Signs of APD: 🔹 Difficulty Understanding Speech – Struggles with conversations, especially in noisy places, and frequently asks, “What?” 🔹 Trouble with Sound Differentiation – Confuses similar-sounding words and has difficulty pinpointing where sounds come from. 🔹 Issues with Following Directions – Finds multi-step instructions hard to follow. 🔹 Problems with Background Noise – Overwhelmed by noisy environments, even if the sounds are quiet. 🔹 Poor Coordination with Sound – Difficulty syncing movements to auditory cues, like clapping in rhythm. ▪︎APD 聴覚情報処理障害▪︎ 長年耳が遠いのかなー？と思っていたら こんな障害があったことを2年前くらいに知りました そしてほとんどが自分の悩みに当てはまっていました ✔︎ 騒がしい環境や複数人の会話で聞き取りが困難 ✔︎ 早口や小声だと、言葉が抜け落ちて理解しにくい ✔︎ 映像コンテンツの理解に字幕が必要になることが多い ✔︎ 長い話を聞いていると集中が続かず、内容を把握できなくなる ✔︎ 聴力検査は正常だが、聞き取った言葉の処理が難しい ✔︎ 似た音の区別が難しい（例：「か」と「が」） ✔︎ 話の一部を聞き落としやすい ✔︎ 聞き間違いや聞き返しが多い ✔︎ 口頭での学習よりも、視覚的な情報（文字・図）で理解しやすい ✔︎ 集中して聞くと疲れやすい ✔︎人の声と環境音を区別するのが困難 ✔︎聞きながらメモを取るのが苦手 ✔︎背景音楽があるときの聞き取りの困難さ 私の困った体験としては 電話口で最初に言われた社名や名前が必ず聞き取れないことです 映画などを見ていても、何度戻して聴いても何て言ってるかわからないことがあるので邦画でも字幕で観ています 雑音や周りがガヤガヤしている環境だと相手が何て言ってるかを必死で理解しようとしてとても疲れます そんなのもあり人混みや騒がしい場所が苦手で、家に引きこもりがちなのかもしれません 音がする方向がどこからなのか分からないことが多く、救急車がどっちから来るか姿が見えるまでわかりません 車で音楽やテレビついてて、後部座席に座っていると前の人の会話がほとんどわからないのでとてもストレスに... 無視してる感じにもなるし🥲 大きめで音楽がかかっている環境だと会話がとても聞き取りにくいんです なぜみんな普通に会話してるのか不思議と思って諦めて傍観し出します 何回も聞き返すのも気まずいので聞こえてるフリをしがちです 何でこの人こっち向いて目があって会話してるのに質問に対して返事をせずキョトンとしてるんだろう？って思われてるなーって顔を何度も見て来ました...笑 何て言ったんだろ？って必死で考えてるけど理解できないんです そして諦めます とても困ったのが、コロナ禍でマスクと仕切りがある時にほんとになんて言ってるかわからなすぎて疲れました😓 多分私と同じ悩みがあっても、APDを知らない人ってたくさんいるんじゃないかなー？と思って リールにしたいとずっと思っていました やっと作れた笑 治るものではないですが、障害だってわかるだけでも対処ができるようになるし 気持ちがとても楽になります✨ 病院受診したか？どこに行けば良いか？等の質問たくさんいただいたので追記しますね💡 わたしは病院を受診はしていません、おかしいな？と調べまくってたどり着いた自分なりの答えです。 治る病気ではないし、わたし自身は受診する必要性を感じていません。 認知もまだあまりされていないので、町の耳鼻科に行っても知らない先生もたくさんいると思います。 チェックリストや詳しい情報は調べたらたくさん出てきます😊 たくさんの方に知ってほしいなと思っているので、もし共感していただいたらシェアや再投稿していただけるととても嬉しいです✨ よろしくお願いいたします💓 リノベーションのご依頼ご相談はDMください😊

For years, I thought I ‘just’ had hearing loss. And I do. But hearing aids have never really helped me understand speech the way they seem to for so many other people. And I’ve tried A LOT of brands and spent hours working with different audiologists over the years. After my ADHD diagnosis, I started reading about Auditory Processing Disorder (APD), and a LOT of it resonated with me. I had just put my name on the wait list for cochlear implants, but I decided to look into APD testing first. And I’m so glad I did. I learned I have high-frequency hearing loss and APD, and it explains so much. My new audiologist helped me choose different hearing aids and adjust the settings, and it’s really opened up my world. My goal for 2026 is to start auditory training and see if it helps.
