Hiy hiy, @aptn_ca ♥️ Grateful to have been part of APTN’s 25th anniversary celebration where they announced the official launch of “APTN Languages”—the first national Indigenous language channel! 📺🌍 This is a huge step towards protecting and revitalizing Indigenous languages, a crucial element in Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Report. Of the 70 Indigenous languages in Canada, 40 have 500 or fewer speakers, many elderly over the age of 70. Preserving these languages is vital for our future generations and the time to act is now. Tune in to APTN Languages for programming in 12+ languages, including Cree, Inuktitut, Anishinaabemowin, Mi’kmaq, and more.
