I found this philodendron pink princess at Matkins nursery here in Bentonville. I noticed something odd at first; this plant seemed very very full. I looked closer and realized that every growth point on this plant was actively growing. Stems are intertwined as new buds emerge and fight for space in the pot. I counted around 27-30 active growth points which seems ludicrous honestly. I think the initial reaction is to want to cut it and make 30 separate plants but I’m gonna watch it closer. My plan is to pot it up a bit larger in a recycled plastic pot with a moss filled piece of cholla for the central stem to grow up. If this growth pattern keeps up and with the right support and fertilizer regimen, this plant could possibly form a bush with over 100 actively growing segments. I have a few mutated Monstera that behave this way but not a pink princess, any thoughts? When I first discovered moss poles, I went all in and put every aroid on them 🤣 I loved it at first, everything was climbing beautifully and the leaves were getting bigger. But as the plants matured, they started getting top heavy. The poles bent, some nearly toppled, and I eventually had to support the moss pole itself 😅 Watering sounded easy, but in reality you have to properly soak the moss or the water just runs off, and over time it started to feel like more work than I expected. That’s when I realized, in nature, these plants don’t grow on moss. They climb whatever they can grip onto: tree trunks, bark, walls, even rocks. So I tried something different. I used old wooden planks, floorboards, old balusters from my deck, nothing fancy. my golden pothos is thriving. It’s climbing, gripping naturally, and sizing up with every new leaf, no bending, no extra support, and pretty much zero maintenance. My take? Moss poles definitely work, but they’re not the only way to get big, beautiful leaves. #mosspoles #stakes #woodenplanksupport #climbingaroids #plantcare

DESCOBRI QUE O ANTHURIUM CLARINERVIUM É TERRESTRE! . Pesquisando no site do Kew (Royal Botanic Gardens) descobri que essa folhagem é nativa de afloramentos calcários de Chiapas, a sudeste do México. Esses lindos antúrios de folhas cordiformes e aveludadas com nervuras claras (daí o epíteto específico "clarinervium") fixam suas raízes grossas em rochas lá no fundo do solo da mata. Portanto, apreciam substrato extremamente fibroso e drenável, imitando o solo de florestas sazonalmente secas, ou seja, deixe o substrato secar um pouquinho entre as regas. Luz difusa abundante, sem sol forte e adubação equilibrada e frequente ajudam no desenvolvimento. O bokashi rico em cálcio é uma excelente opção, garantindo a similaridade com o solo das matas de sua região nativa. . Esses lindos Anthurium clarinervium são produzidos pelo @sitiosymphony, empresa cooperada do @veilingholambra. From thriving to struggling… sharing with you all the rehab journey of my Alocasia azlanii pink/albo, easily one of the best plants in my collection. This all started when I split her into three by separating two offshoots. In theory it made sense… but even though the two smaller ones thrived, the mother plant quickly started going backwards. Crispy leaf tips, aborted growth, and just not looking right. This has always been a risk in any propagation. Checked the roots and found the issue — rot. From there it was a full reset: cleaned up all the bad roots, treated with hydrogen peroxide, and repotted into a smaller pot with a fresh, chunky mix. I also kept her in high humidity to reduce stress while she recovered. Then it was just a waiting game. Watch to see if the rehab was successful. #alocasia #alocasiaazlaniipinkvariegated #plantrehab #aroids #rareplant
