The 4 tickers mentioned today are: QQQ, VUG, MGK, and SMH. Now of course, just because they have outperformed the S&P500 lately, it doesn’t mean they will always outperform. A lot of these ETFs are heavy in tech and AI industry correlated stocks, and in any market downturn - they may take a bigger beating than other investments (including the S&P500). Think of it this way: the more heavy growth an ETF is, the heavier the volatility and the swings.
The longer your time horizon is, the higher likelihood you can weather out any storms within your portfolio, but if you’re about to say, retire in a few years - or you need cash for a short term savings goal — you may want to take a beat and examine why you might be investing.
