Looks like it came to ask for answers 😂 Hesap sormaya gelmiş 😂 The harpy eagle is one of the most powerful birds of prey in Central and South America’s rainforests. With a body length close to 1 meter, a wingspan over 2 meters, and massive talons on thick legs, it looks truly intimidating. Its gray head, dark back, and white underside make it easy to recognize. Capable of catching large prey, this sky giant is now protected in many areas due to deforestation. 🦅🌿

😭 The bald eagle’s iconic appearance is the result of a long maturation process rather than a trait present at birth. Juvenile bald eagles are predominantly brown and lack the famous white head and tail, which only emerge after four to five years as the bird reaches full maturity, a transformation that often leads to younger eagles being mistaken for other large birds of prey. Australia has a beautiful, diverse range of bird species from tiny honeyeaters to huge prehistoric‑looking cranes, and we’re incredibly lucky to share this continent with them! Australia is home to around 850–900 bird species when you include native and migratory birds seen across the mainland and offshore territories. About 350 of these are endemic (found nowhere else on Earth). Birds of prey (raptors): Around 35 species of raptors in Australia, including hawks, eagles, falcons and owls. Parrots and cockatoos: Australia has one of the highest diversities of parrots in the world, with about 56 native species (including both true parrots and cockatoos). Seabirds: Australian waters host around 80 species of seabirds, including terns, shearwaters and albatrosses. There are around 17 species of true nocturnal birds: those that are primarily active at night such as owls, nightjars, frogmouths and owlet‑nightjars. These include multiple species of masked and boobook owls plus several nightjars, frogmouths and the owlet‑nightjar group Flightless Birds: 3 species. Emus, cassowaries, and the Tasmanian Native Hen Songbirds (also known as passerines or perching birds) are a major group of birds in Australia. We have around 340 native songbird species. Songbirds include familiar families such as honeyeaters, fairy‑wrens, robins, thornbills, fantails, chats, whistlers. Waterbirds in Australia: Australia supports a very diverse waterbird community, birds that depend on freshwater and coastal wetlands, rivers, lakes and estuaries. Based on broad species lists and bird checklists, there are about 260 species of waterbirds recorded in Australia’s waterways and wetlands. Ducks, geese, swans, pelicans, herons, Egrets, ibises, grebes, etc. Gamebirds / Galliformes: Australia has around 6 native gamebird species including quails and mound‑builders like brush‑turkeys and malleefowl. #smwildlife

In this dramatic nature clip, a powerful eagle attempts to hunt a stingray (identified here as an electric ray) in the shallow waters of a beach. The eagle swoops down and grips the ray with its talons, but it is immediately met with a shocking defense. A visual effect simulates a bolt of electricity passing from the ray to the eagle, causing the bird to recoil and momentarily freeze in a rigid, outstretched position. 🦅⚡️ The encounter serves as a reminder that even the most dominant predators must respect "silent dangers" in the wild. The eagle appears stunned by the unexpected counterattack, highlighting the ray's unique biological defense mechanism. This brief but intense interaction showcases the surprising ways animals protect themselves and the risks inherent in the struggle for survival. 🌊🐟 . . #wildlifevideos #eagle #birdsofprey #stingray #natureisamazing . . 📚 Fontes: • National Geographic – Raptors and Prey • The Cornell Lab of Ornithology • BBC Earth – Birds of Prey Behavior • Animal Behavior, John Alcock • Fundamentals of Ethology, Irenäus Eibl-Eibesfeldt 👉 Siga @terraecosmos para mais ciência, curiosidades e explicações do que a natureza faz com perfeição há milênios.

Backyard playtime shifts in a split second A fenced backyard sits quiet in the afternoon light as a young girl plays in the grass, focused on a toy in front of her. Trees line the edge of the property, and the space appears calm and contained. Without warning, a large eagle drops from above the tree line and glides low over the yard. Its wings stretch wide as it passes directly over the child, close enough to trigger immediate movement from nearby animals. Two household cats bolt forward at once, sprinting toward the bird with arched backs and raised tails. Their sudden charge alters the trajectory, forcing the eagle to veer upward and away from the yard. The child, startled by the rush of wings and motion, falls backward onto the grass as a woman runs into frame and quickly scoops her up. The bird disappears beyond the trees, and the yard returns to stillness within seconds. Wildlife experts often note that birds of prey may investigate movement below, especially in open yards near wooded areas. Rapid motion and defensive responses can interrupt that assessment just as quickly. Maintaining supervision in outdoor spaces near natural habitats is important, as even brief encounters can unfold with little warning. This video is synthetic media, and the story is for your entertainment. #reel #viral #eagle #cats #heros

What is THAT? Alejandro the Harpy Eagle just can't quite wrap his head around what he is seeing. Many birds will bob and rotate their head around when they are curious about something. Head movements can help them see from different angles, so just maybe with enough bobbing and turning Alejandro will figure out just WHAT he is looking at. Alejandro is of course curious about the hood that a Peregrine Falcon is wearing. Birds of prey are very visual, so wearing a hood to block their vision can keep them feeling calm and safe when moving around or in more stressful situations. This particular Peregrine is very confident, but continues daily hood training to keep her ready for when she travels to her new facility soon. Long travel can be stressful for birds that are not accustomed to it, so having her hood trained will make the transition much easier for her. #HarpyEagle #PeregrineFalcon #BirdsofPrey #BirdTraining #BirdsOfInstagram #AnimalBehavior #FalconryHood

📍Out on the open plains, it was a true showdown — the elegant **Secretary Bird** 🦅 versus the jackal. With its impossibly long legs and sharp, calculated strikes, the secretary bird stood tall and fearless. When danger crept too close to its chick, those powerful legs became the ultimate defense — stomping, striking, and protecting with precision 💥👣 A true guardian of the grasslands 🌾 Built with an eagle-like body and crane-like legs, the secretary bird can grow over 4 feet tall. Unlike most birds of prey, it hunts on foot, delivering lightning-fast stomps to snakes and small predators ⚡ Its striking eyelashes and quill-like head feathers give it a regal look 👑 — but make no mistake, this bird is a warrior. Moments like this remind us that every safari tells a powerful story of survival, instinct, and courage 🐾✨ 📍 Experience the wild with Warro Safaris — where nature writes the script. #WarroSafaris #AfricanSafari #SafariLife #WildlifePhotography #IntoTheWild

Kestrels are small, highly adaptable falcons famous for their incredible eyesight and unique hunting techniques. They are one of the few birds of prey capable of true “hovering”—keeping their heads perfectly locked in place while flapping their wings rapidly to scan the ground below for a meal. As chicks, they spend weeks observing their surroundings from the safety of a nest cavity to develop and hone their visual tracking skills. Once fully grown, their vision is so advanced that they can actually see ultraviolet light. This superpower allows them to track the glowing urine trails of small rodents hidden in the grass from high up in the sky. ⠀ Follow @showingyoustuff for more interesting facts ⠀ Credit: Unknown (no copyright intended/DM for credit or removal) ⠀ #nature #birds #kestrel #wildlife #animals
