PHBest birding day I’ve ever had at @evergladesnps — and that’s saying a lot for someone who’s been coming here every few years for the past 30 years. One of my favorite spots is the Royal Palm boardwalk on the southeast side of the park — an easy, family-friendly walk that I highly recommend.
Not only did I see some spectacular birds, I also ran into a legend in the birding world @navarres.wild.shots 🦅🦜We started chatting, I asked for his Instagram… and realized I was already following him. A wonderful photographer, storyteller, and true expert. He explained why bird activity has been so strong this season: after Florida’s recent cold snap, many fish died, and where there’s abundant food, the birds gather. Nature’s cycle on full display.
