Anime and Manga Overview
Plot: The story centers on Hitori Gotō, nicknamed "Bocchi-chan" (meaning "lonely little girl"), an introverted girl with crippling social anxiety who has no friends. Despite this, she is a highly skilled guitarist who secretly uploads videos online under the name "Guitar Hero". Her life changes when drummer Nijika Ijichi recruits her to join her newly formed "Kessoku Band". The series depicts her struggles and growth as she navigates band life, friendship, and live performances.
Production: The manga, written and illustrated by Aki Hamazi, has been serialized in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Max since December 2017. The 12-episode anime adaptation, which aired in late 2022, was highly praised for its creative animation techniques that visually represent the protagonist's anxiety and for its excellent music.
