Let’s learn to make bread. Starting with sandwich bread. Recipe: @britt.kubicki RECIPE 3 cups all purpose flour 1.5 tsp Instant yeast 1.5 tsp salt 1.5 tsp sweetener (honey, maple syrup or sugar) 1.5 cups water Add all to a bowl and mix (it’s going to be a wet, tacky dough) Cover and let sit for 2 hours After 2 hours take 2 forks and pull from edges and fold into the center of the dough. It will still be sticky. Do this a few times. It will form a wiggly ball of dough Add a small amount of olive oil for handling. Roll into a cylinder-ish shape. And add to a creased bread pan Let it rise to top of pan or over. Should take about an hour. Bake 375 for 45 minutes #breadtok #Foodie #foodtiktok #EasyRecipe

Crusty White Loaf 🍞⬇️ (RECIPE) Ingredients: - 500g bread flour (or plain) - 350g warm water - 10g salty salty flavours - 7g instant yeast 1. Mix all your ingredients into a shaggy dough 2. Tip out on a floured work surface and knead for 5-10 mins until smooth 3. Oil up a bowl and add the dough, cover and leave for 90 mins to double in size 4. Tip it out and push out all the air and shape into a flat rectangle 5. Now pull in the corners and tuck the dough in on itself until you have a sausage shape 6. Now add to a loaf tin or pan with flour and cover for 30 mins to double in size 7. Grab a big knife or blade and score down the middle 8. Add to your oven anything over 200 degrees C for 30 mins with a pan of warm water on the bottom shelf to help the crust 9. Take it out, remove from the tin and add back for 5 mins 10. Unpopular sourdough opinion… You don’t have to fold your dough every 30 minutes. Instead, I aim for 4–5 folds spaced evenly throughout bulk fermentation. Spreading them out gives the dough time to relax between folds, which helps the gluten strengthen gradually and makes the dough more even and cohesive. When folds are too close together, you can end up just moving the same tight areas around instead of letting the dough naturally redistribute strength. Giving the dough time between folds helps create better structure, more even fermentation, and stronger oven spring. Every dough and kitchen is a little different though. STOP WATCHING YOUR CLOCK! Start watching the dough. Your dough should be: • Domed • Jiggly when you move the bowl • Tacky (not sticky) • At least a 75% rise • Bubbly on top + along the edges • Pulling clean from the bowl • Dumping out in one cohesive mass If it looks like this, it’s ready. Throwback to when I used to waste flour. When I first started, I fed my starter 50g starter + 50g water + 50g flour every single day… even when I wasn’t baking. That means: 👉 50g flour × 30 days = 1,500g of flour (3.3 lbs) a month 👉 About $6–$7 per month, or $80+ a year — literally thrown away as discard 😬 Here’s the fix: You can maintain your starter with as little as 1g of starter, feeding 1g water + 1g flour daily. That’s only 1g of flour per day → 30g a month (less than 2 tablespoons!). Your starter stays healthy and active, no fridge needed — and you save your flour for baking, not feeding. #SourdoughTips #SourdoughStarter #SourdoughBeginner #BreadTok
