It’s a common technique when building large counters or tabletops in sections and assembling them on-site. Normally, you would combine it with dowels, dominoes, or similar joinery. In the past, I made jigs out of the scrap that always comes from using a hole saw, but this time I turned that scrap into a joint fastener. You may have seen the metal version sold in stores, but surprisingly, even a wooden version provides solid strength and holds the joint firmly together 👍 I post short videos every day! Here I have tried something completely new. I have never used or made such a flap and closure before. It only really worked on the second attempt, even if the result is not 100% perfect. The screws of the fastener are a bit too long, but that's the way it is now. My main aim was to learn how to do it. And making the flap didn't work straight away either ^^ I had forgotten a piece of cardboard and the spacing didn't fit perfectly. But I'm really happy with the result from the video, despite the mistakes. And I think it looks so beautiful. By the way, inside is the book block from the previous video, which I made with the self-made paper. Hier habe ich etwas ganz neues ausprobiert. Solch eine Klappe und den Verschluss habe ich beides vorher noch nicht genutzt bzw. hergestellt. Es hat auch erst beim zweiten Versuch tatsächlich funktioniert, auch wenn das Ergebnis nicht 100% perfekt ist. Die Schrauben des Verschlusses sind etwas zu lang, aber so ist das jetzt. Es ging mir in erster Linie darum, es zu lernen. Und auch die Klappe herzustellen, hatte nicht direkt funktioniert ^^ ich hatte eine Pappe vergessen und die Abstände passten nicht perfekt. Aber mit dem Ergebnis aus dem Video bin ich, trotz der Fehler, sehe glücklich. Und ich finde, es sieht so schön aus. Innen ist übrigens der Buchblock aus dem vorherigen Video, den ich mit dem selbstgemachten Papier gearbeitet habe. #bookbinding #reliure #bookstagramm #instabook #minibook #fairybook #handmade #buchbinden
