Have you noticed already?! All you need to do is to repeat ONE step only - the first strand goes over one, under two, over one. That is it! This is the mantra you are going to repeat over and over all the way down. I break it down for you so it’s easy to understand. Ingredients for two loaves of challah bread: - 330g water - 75g oive oil - 15g salt - 75g sugar - 10g instant dry yeast - 750g AP/bread flour I used 120g for each strand, rolled into 17 inches (45 cm). Keep the middle thicker to achieve this specific design. Looking forward to seeing yours this weekend!

5 POUND CHALLAH RECIPE✨ Lots of helpful videos in my highlight “challah tips” and “bread braiding” Chocolate rugelach cake and cinnamon rolls recipes are pinned in comments below ⬇️ Ingredients: •5 lb.bag of all purpuse flour (2.26 kilo) •2 cups of sugar (460 grams) •4.5 tbsp. of dry active yeast (60 grams) •5 tsp. salt (45 grams) •2/3 cup of oil (157 ml.) any oil of your choice. •4 to 4.5 cups of warm water (1064 ml.) Directions: 1. In a large bowl, place the flour in the center. 2. Add sugar, yeast, and salt. 3. Pour in the oil and 4 cups of warm water. Keep the remaining water handy. 4. Begin kneading the dough, adding water as needed. Aim for a moist consistency. 5. Knead vigorously for about 15 minutes, until the dough is soft and elastic. 6. At this point, if you would like you may transfer your dough into a mixer and continue needing for an additional seven minutes. 7. Remove the dough from the bowl and knead it on a floured surface. Throw it onto the counter a few times to break up gluten. 8. Return the dough to the bowl, rub a little oil on top, and cover with plastic wrap and a kitchen towel. 9. Allow the dough to proof (rise) for 1.5-2 hours, or until doubled in size. 10. Once proofed, separate the dough by grabbing a small piece of dough and perform the blessing. Dispose of the portion removed (challah) as it is inedible. 11. Separate your dough into according sized balls. Cover and set to proof another 25 minutes. 12. Once your dough is proofed separate into balls according to how many strands you will need. 13. Roll out each ball and set to proof an additional 25 minutes covered. 14. Roll out each ball and test, strand, and braid your Challah bread however you like. 15. Cover and proof and additional 25 minutes. 16. Before going into the oven brush with egg wash and top off with your favorite toppings. 17. Baking a preheated oven set at 350° for approximately 35 minutes 18. Last and final challah bread of 2023✨ This is the most Israeli challah bread, and you can find these beauties at every shuk, market, or bakery early Friday mornings. It is made with an eggless challah dough recipe. This dough can be made by hand, but for best results use a mixer. You can find an inexpensive one in my amazon storefront, the link is in my bio 🤍 I used a standard loaf baking tin. Ingredients: •1 kilo = 7 full cups of all purpose flour (1000 grams) •2 heaping tbsp. of dry active yeast = 24 grams •1 tbsp. of salt = 12 grams •1/2 cup of sugar = 110 grams •1/4 cup of olive oil or any oil of choice = 59 ml •2 and 1/2 cups of warm water Directions: 1. In a mixer bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, oil and active dry yeast. 2. Using a mixer with a knead/hook attachment or your hands, slowly add warm water to the dry ingredients. 3. Mix until the dough comes together, ensuring it’s moist but not too dry. 4. Knead the dough in the mixer for 12 minutes or by hand for 15 minutes. 5. Drizzle a little oil on top, cover with plastic wrap and a kitchen towel, then proof for 1.5-2 hours in a warm place. 6. Separate the dough into eight equal balls of about 230g each, roll and tuck them to form smooth dome tops. 7. Cover and proof for an additional 25 minutes. 8. Roll each ball into a strand of about 14 inches long and braid a four-strand challah, following the two out one in the center mantra. More videos in my highlight “bread braiding” 9. Flip the braid, take the middle strand out to the side, and continue braiding using the same mantra. 10. Tuck the ends of the challah under, place it in a loaf pan sprayed with release spray, and cover for a final 25-minute proof. 11. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the challah for about 45 minutes. 12. Once slightly cooled, brush the Challah with olive oil for a golden shine. 13. Enjoy your delicious Challah! Back to basics with the Four Round Challah Bread. There is magic to braiding with four strands. It sounds too simple and not special, but once you try it, you will fall in love. Each of us has his own fingerprint, and each of us has his own energy, so it will look different and unique for each of us. This Challah bread was made with 180g of dough for each strand and 55cm/22 inches long. Brush it only with the egg yolk and bake it 25 min 180C/355F. The DIP is Tahini and Honey for a sweet year. ✨ CHALLAH BREAD ✨ Uno dei pani più belli che potete fare facilmente in casa. Il profumo di miele e olio extra vergine d’oliva @colavita_italia riempiranno la vostra casa, arricchito con frutta secca e uvetta per un pane sofficissimo. Ingredienti: Prefermento: 20g di lievito di birra 170gr di Farina forte (14g proteine) 57gr di acqua 40ºC 113gr di acqua 22ºC Impasto: 72gr uvetta, albicocca secca e noci 113gr Miele 75gr olio extra vergine d’oliva 2 uova intere 1 tuorlo 405g di farina forte 11g sale Procedimento: Per il prefermento. Lievito, prima parte d’acqua (38/40ºc) e lo sciogliete. Aggiungete poi la seconda parte d’acqua e la farina. Dovete solo incorporare. Lasciate maturare per 1h30 fino a quando non raddoppia (quasi triplica). Per l’impasto unite olio extravergine d’oliva, il miele, le uova e in tuorlo. Unite i liquidi al prefermento. Poi la farina e il sale ed impastate. Trasferite sul piano e continuare ad impastare a mano per 10/15 min. Dovete dare forza all’impasto e creare la maglia glutinica. Dopo 10 min, appiattite l’impasto e aggiungete le albicocche secche, l’uvetta e le noci. Chiudete l’impasto al centro, in modo tale che siano ben distribuite. Continuate ad impastare e lasciate lievitare per 2h a temperatura ambiente. Fate poi dei panetti da 170gr, arrotolandoli fino ad una lunghezza di circa 50cm. Ne verranno 6. Prima di intrecciarli, spolverizzateli leggermente con della farina. Adesso la chiusura a 6, classica del challah bread. Unite tutti e 6 i panetti all’estremità superiore. Prendete l’estremo destro e lo portare dalla parte opposta. Prendete l’estremo sinistro e lo portare dalla parte opposta. Adesso avete due gruppi da due al centro. Prendete l’estremo destro che avete portato a sinistra e lo portate al centro, verso il gruppo da 2 a destra. Ora che avete formato un gruppo da 3 al centro e prendete l’estremo destro, portandolo dal lato opposto. Ripetete fino a chiudere tutta la treccia. Lasciate lievitare per 2h dando una prima spennellata d’uovo. Poi la pellicola spennellata con olio evo. Dopo la lievitazione, ultima spennellata d’uovo e in forno a 170gradi per 30/35min. #adv#olioevo#challahbread#pane#baking

The Best Challah French Toast✨ The secret to the best French toast is properly soaking the bread in a quick custard made with whole milk, which infuses it with creamy flavor and adds protein to keep you fueled throughout the day. @gonnaneedmilk #gonnaneedmilk #ad French Toast:▪️1 Cup Whole Milk▪️1 Tbsp Maple Syrup▪️1 tsp Vanilla Extract▪️1 tsp Cinnamon▪️1/4 tsp Kosher Salt▪️4 Large Eggs▪️6 x 3/4-inch Slices Challah Bread▪️ Cooking:▪️2 Tbsp Butter, plus more as needed▪️ Topping:▪️Butter▪️Warm Maple Syrup▪️Berries▪️ 1️⃣ In a 9x9-inch dish (or similar), whisk together the milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Add the eggs and whisk until evenly combined. 2️⃣ Add 3 slices of challah (or as many fit in a single layer) and soak for 2 minutes, then flip with tongs, and soak for 2-3 more minutes until fully saturated, but not falling apart. 3️⃣ In a large pan preheated over medium heat, melt 2 Tbsp butter. Add the French toast and cook for 2-3 mins per side until golden brown. (You can soak the remaining slices while the first batch cooks.) Repeat with the second batch, adding more butter to the skillet if needed. 4️⃣ Transfer to plates and serve with butter, maple syrup, and berries.
