What if a circle could turn into a triangle?
That’s exactly how the area of a circle can be understood intuitively.
Imagine cutting a circle into many equal sectors and rearranging them alternately. As the number of sectors increases, the shape starts looking like a triangle (or a parallelogram).
The base becomes half the circumference → πr
The height is the radius → r
So the area becomes just like a triangle:
Area = 1/2 (2πr) × r = πr²
No memorization. Just pure geometry and visualization.

Objetivo:
Os estudantes irão explorar conceitos de geometria plana por meio da construção e manipulação de triângulos isósceles feitos de papelão. A atividade busca desenvolver habilidades espaciais e a compreensão sobre as propriedades das formas geométricas ao formarem novas figuras.
Materiais:
• Papelão;
• Tesoura;
• Régua;
• Caneta para marcação;
Procedimento:
1️⃣ Construção do Quadrado:
• Cada estudante desenhará um quadrado de 15 cm de lado no papelão.
• Em seguida, utilizará a régua para traçar uma linha diagonal, dividindo o quadrado em dois triângulos isósceles.
• Com a tesoura, os estudantes devem cortar cuidadosamente o quadrado e depois cortar sobre a linha diagonal.
2️⃣ Formação dos Triângulos Isósceles:
• Após o corte, cada estudante terá dois triângulos isósceles.
• A tarefa é repetir o processo para construir mais dois triângulos isósceles iguais, totalizando quatro triângulos.
3️⃣ Desafios de Montagem:
• Com os quatro triângulos isósceles em mãos, os estudantes devem formar:
• Um Retângulo: Alinhando os triângulos de modo que suas bases fiquem paralelas;
• Um Quadrado: Utilizando os vértices dos triângulos para fechá-lo;
• Um Triângulo Maior: Juntando as hipotenusas para formar um único triângulo;
• Uma Figura com Quadrado Interno e Quadrado Externo: Organizando os triângulos para criar um quadrado menor interno e um quadrado maior externo, como demonstrado nas imagens do vídeo.
Discussão e Análise:
• Após a montagem, cada grupo deve explicar:
• Quais propriedades geométricas foram utilizadas para formar cada figura?
• Quais semelhanças e diferenças existem entre as figuras construídas?
• Qual foi o maior desafio ao tentar encaixar os triângulos de forma perfeita?
Extensão da Atividade:
