R.I.P. Seba Jun, a.k.a. Nujabes. An incredibly talented, one-of-a-kind, legendary producer who deserves all the respect and praise in the world. He inspired so many beat-makers after him, especially in the lo-fi chill hip-hop beats category.

In my opinion, he’s on par with some of the greatest producers of all time, like J Dilla. I find it a very interesting coincidence that he and J Dilla were born on the exact same day.

Modal Soul is incredible album full of lush, jazzy, melodic beats that are sure to put you at ease.

This album is a very nostalgic one for me. Some of these tracks evoke emotion in a unique way that I can’t really compare to anything else. It’s been a part of my life for so long, through so many different stages and highs and lows, it almost feels like an old friend.

So many standout tracks on this album. “Feather” (ft. Cise Star & Akin) is such a beautiful, dreamy, blissful, chill track. “Reflection Eternal” is an equally beautiful track with a melancholy piano loop that makes me just immediately stop and feel this contemplative stillness that is hard to put into words.

And “Luv (Sic.), Part 3 (ft. Shing02)” is one of my favorite songs of all time. It’s just one of those tracks that hits you right in your soul. Somehow it makes me feel sad and happy all at the same time. I could play over and over.

Scientists estimate there are more than 200 billion trillion stars in the universe. You see only about 6,000 of them when you look up at the night sky, because the rest are too far away for us to see. 🔭
Those stars are located within 2 trillion galaxies. Our own galaxy, the Milky Way, is home to about 100 billion of them! 🌌

COSS 433 is one of the most exotic star systems known. Its unremarkable name stems from its inclusion in a catalog of Milky Way stars which emit radiation characteristic of atomic hydrogen. Its remarkable behavior stems from a compact object, a black hole or neutron star, which has produced an accretion disk with jets. Because the disk and jets from SS 433 resemble those surrounding supermassive black holes in the centers of distant galaxies, SS 433 is considered a micro-quasar. As illustrated in the animated featured video based on observational data, a massive, hot, normal star is locked in orbit with the compact object. As the video starts, material is shown being gravitationally ripped from the normal star and falling onto an accretion disk. The central star also blasts out jets of ionized gas in opposite directions — each at about 1/4 the speed of light. The video then pans out to show a top view of the precessing jets producing an expanding spiral. From even greater distances, the dissipating jets are then visualized near the heart of supernova remnant W50. A few years ago, SS 433 was unexpectedly found by the HAWC detector array in Mexico to emit unusually high energy (TeV-range) gamma-rays. Surprises continue, as a recent analysis of archival data taken by NASA’s Fermi satellite find a gamma-ray source — separated from the central stars as shown — that pulses in gamma-rays with a period of 162 days — the same as SS 433’s jet precession period — for reasons yet unknown.
