NUHow Cardiac Conduction Works 🫀
In order for the heart to pump, an electrical signal travels down a specific path:
➡️ SA node – the pacemaker, starts the beat
➡️ AV node – delays so ventricles can fill
➡️ Bundle of His – carries the signal from the atria to the ventricles
➡️ Bundle branches – send it down right & left ventricles
➡️ Purkinje fibers – rapidly spreads the signal throguh the ventricles, leading to a contraction
