JOSpring decorating mode: ON
I’m back from vacation and slowly getting my home ready for Easter. One of my favorite little styling tricks is customizing plastic Easter eggs to match your home’s color palette. Instead of the bright mixed colors, grab a few cans of @krylonbrand spray paint and give them a quick refresh to fit your decor.
Soft pastels, neutrals or whatever colors flow with your space instantly make them feel more elevated and intentional. I love how these turned out in this glass jar for a simple Easter decor.
Just a little tip: I only recommend this if the eggs are for decoration only. If you plan to open them and fill them with candy or treats, spray painting wouldn’t be a good idea.

HOI loved the designer Easter eggs… just not the designer price 💚🐣
So I made my own — and honestly… you HAVE to trust the process on this one.
I’ve always loved the look of those beautiful high-end decorative Easter eggs, but I wanted to create a more budget-friendly version that still had that same luxury wow factor.
I started with a large decorative egg — you can buy one already colored or simply spray paint it this gorgeous Kelly green. Then I used an argyle plaid stencil and lightly traced the pattern all the way around the egg.
After that, it’s just about slowly painting inside the lines you created. It does take a little patience, but it’s actually very relaxing. Because the egg is round, some of the shapes toward the back will naturally be smaller — but once it’s finished, you truly can’t tell.
To elevate the look and give it that designer feel, I added clear rhinestone gems between the painted lines for sparkle and dimension.
Styled on my porch, this piece makes such a beautiful Easter statement — and proves you can create luxury seasonal decor without the luxury price tag.
Trust the process… the end result is SO worth it.

I was trying to think of something I could place next to my fireplace that wouldn’t break the bank and still look beautiful then I found these clear jumbo plastic eggs.
I spent about $20 total on this DIY project and used paints I already had on hand.
Process:
1. Glued the two halves together
2. Two coats of primer
3. Two coats of baking soda/chalk paint mixer
Paints:
Waverly chalk paint - celery
Waverly chalk paint - pink slipper
Rust-Oleum Chalked - linen white

SOWant Easter eggs that actually match your porch? Here’s how to customize them to fit any style:
Supplies:
Plastic eggs, tissue paper (or napkins), Mod Podge, brush, optional clear coat spray
Directions:
0.5 (optional): If your porch gets windy, add a little gravel to the bottom of the egg for weight
1. Glue the egg halves together
You don’t want them popping open once you start decorating
2. Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge
3. Place a cut piece of tissue paper over the glue
Gently smooth it down with another thin layer of Mod Podge (be careful, the tissue paper tears easily!)
4. Repeat until the entire egg is covered
5. Once dry, apply one more thin layer of Mod Podge over the whole egg to seal it
6. If using outdoors, spray a couple coats of clear sealant for extra protection
