The Trifacial Trinity: The Controversy Behind the Iconography #art #arthistory #painting The controversy over the iconography arose because it resembled pagan depictions of multi-headed deities like Hecate, leading the Catholic Church to reject it as “unnatural.” Concerns also arose that the image could cause confusion or heresy, as some might interpret it as Modalism (God as one person in different modes) or Tritheism (God as three separate Gods). Which would contradict the Church’s teaching that one God exists as three co-equal, co-eternal persons sharing a single divine essence. Although banned in Europe, the image became popular in the Spanish Americas during the 18th century, especially within the Cusco School in present-day Peru, where Church authorities saw the three-faced depiction as an effective tool for teaching the Trinity. Saw a creator who was holding Hindu deities claiming to “throw away her hippie spiritual clutter” When people lump sacred Hindu deities into “hippie spiritual stuff” it shows how deeply our traditions get misunderstood. That idol is Lord Ganesha, one of the most revered gods in Hinduism, worshipped for thousands of years. #reels #hindu #reelsinstagram

The Supreme Queen of the cosmos, Parabhattarika Rajarajeshwari Lalita Mahātripurasundarī, is the primordial womb from whom all deities arise. In Kanchipuram she is worshipped as Kamakshi Devi, She whose eyes are reservoirs of grace and creation. The name “Kāmākṣī” reveals a secret of divine origin: from her sacred eyes (akṣi) manifested Ka and Ma, Saraswati and Lakshmi, the eternal streams of wisdom and prosperity. When Brahma and Vishnu performed deep tapas seeking their śaktis, the Mother, moved by compassion, opened her lotus gaze. From that radiant vision emerged the two divine consorts, not separate from Her, but luminous expressions of Her own infinite being. Born from the glance of the Supreme, Saraswati and Lakshmi first bowed in reverence, offering seva at Her feet. For knowledge and abundance themselves are but humble rays of the Mahāśakti, eternally serving the Source from whom the universe blossoms and dissolves. . Today is Gaura Purnima, which is the appearance day of Lord Chaitanya, the most merciful incarnation of God who game to spread the Holy Name, Hare Krishna On this special day we celebrate by fasting until when He appears at moon rise and also by bathing and dressing the deities Krishna (God) is everywhere so He is also especially present in the deities. God is merciful that He appears to us as deities so we can worship Him even in the material world. The deities are like a “mailbox” to the spiritual world. It’s a way to directly see and be with God. By serving Krishna in the form of the deity we can serve Him personally and exchange love. I personally love deity worship, the loving exchange is so intimate and sweet and profound. The more I serve the deities the closer I feel I am able to connect with God personally. It brings me so much bliss and peace. I’m so grateful I was spiritually trained in a home temple ashram environment so I could learn some of the basics of deity worship and continue this practice in married life (grihasta ashram) Do you have questions about deity worship at home? Drop them down below!👇🏼 Happy Gaura Purnima! 💛

Bhoota Kola is a sacred, centuries-old spirit-worship ritual from coastal Karnataka (Tulu Nadu) where performers, believed to be possessed by deities like Guliga and Panjurli, act as divine intermediaries. Guliga is a fierce, protective deity associated with land and justice, often invoked alongside the benevolent boar-spirit Panjurli to resolve community disputes As per my understanding, there is no website as such for Bhoota Kola dates, please check @itsmangalore and @whatsupkudla Instagram pages for more updates regarding temple names and dates [Bhoota Kola in Mangalore, Panjurli and Guliga, Kantara, Tulu Nadu, Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka, Traditions, Roots, culture, Temple, Travel, lavanya , Liltravelstories] #bhootakola #mangalore #panjurli #guliga #liltravelstories

Har Har Mahadev🕉️🔱🚩📿🙏🏻 Mahadev is another name for Lord Shiva, one of the principal deities of Hinduism, which translates to "Great God". He is revered as the Supreme Being in Shaivism, a major Hindu tradition, and is known as the destroyer of evil, the transformer, and the one who brings about cosmic balance. Mahadev is associated with time, yoga, meditation, and the arts, and is part of the Trimurti, along with Brahma and Vishnu. 💥 Keep Supporting :- ❤️ Like🔹Comments🔸Share 💯% ✳️Hashtag Use ➡️ amaodishas ✅ Bad Comments Instant Delete 🔹Symbolism:- Shiva is often depicted with symbols such as a crescent moon, a third eye, and a trishula (trident). He is associated with a snake (Vasuki) around his neck and rides a bull (Nandi). 🔹Devotion:- Devotees worship Shiva to attain liberation (\(moksha\)), gain wisdom, and receive his blessings. The mantra "(Om Namah Shivaya)" is a common chant. 🔹Role in the Trimurti:- As part of the Hindu Trimurti, Shiva's role as the destroyer is balanced by Brahma's role as the creator and Vishnu's role as the preserver. The Divine Secret of the Two Hands ✨ Most deities offer the Abhaya Hastha (hand of protection), but Lord Venkateswara’s posture is unique. It’s not just a pose; it’s a promise. Here is the deep spiritual meaning behind both hands: 👉 The Right Hand (Varada Hastha): Points downward toward His Lotus Feet. It is an invitation. He is saying, "Surrender your ego and your worries here. Take refuge in Me." 👈 The Left Hand (Kati Hastha): Rests gracefully at His hip. In Sanskrit, Kati means the waist. This hand signals the "depth" of the worldly ocean (Bhavasagara). He is promising, "For those who surrender to My feet, the ocean of birth, death, and worldly troubles will only be hip-deep. I will never let you drown." It is the ultimate assurance of the Kali Yuga: Surrender at His feet, and your troubles will never rise above your waist. 🌊🙏 If this divine message touched your heart, comment "Om Namo Narayana"! #Tirupati #LordVenkateswara #KatiHastha #DivinePromise #OmNamoNarayana

The moment, captured on camera and widely shared online, has left many viewers questioning the priorities reflected in the act. While offering milk to rivers and deities is a long-standing ritual in several traditions, the visual contrast between devotion and visible hunger has stirred uncomfortable conversations. Many social media users asked whether true devotion lies in ritual alone or in helping those in need. “If God lives in everyone, wouldn’t feeding the hungry be the greatest offering?” one comment read. Others defended the man, saying faith should not be judged based on a short clip and that charity and worship can coexist. The video has reopened a larger discussion about the balance between religious practices and social responsibility in modern times. Spiritual leaders have often spoken about compassion as the highest form of worship, reminding devotees that service to humanity is service to God.
