ALIf images of the fire aftermath trigger you in any way, I don’t recommend watching this video.
But as devastating as it is, this gives us a much clearer picture of what’s left of Pacific Palisades and PCH, far more so than any media coverage I’ve seen. It’s jaw dropping devastation. As one of the comments says.. “I can’t get over the sheer capriciousness of the damage - you pass through a neighborhood that’s fairly intact, then turn a corner into Hiroshima”. And this footage doesn’t even include Altadena, which is a whole other historic area that’s been wiped off the map.
As hard as this is to watch, it respectfully films our beloved 1st responders. No provocations.
Not reporters. Just letting us see it all for ourselves and it shows every element of this catastrophe. It is truly shocking.
This was filmed by photojournalist
Fabian Lewkowicz on Jan 10th. These once picturesque tree lined streets and beachfront properties, lined with homes overlooking the ocean, now stands in ruins, with numerous residences reduced to smoldering rubble. Rows of chimneys now stand like Tombstones.
Thousands of clips featuring the devastation have added music. There’s absolutely NO reason for that. You need to see it raw and you need to hear the real sounds of the first responders and the bizarre quietness.
It’s truly impossible to focus on anything else right now. It’s hard to relate people out of state just living their lives. For thousands here life is standing still. The PTSD will be major. I was fortunate not to lose anything or be in the line of fire, but its impossible to sleep. So many friends lost their houses. All that gorgeous architecture lost. Some of those structures were over 100 years old and will never be built the same way. My hometown now looks like Mars.
I’m posting this so you can really see how apocalyptic it is. One week ago everything was beautiful. And today hell on earth. Please uplift and comfort those impacted by this terrible tragedy. Be sensible and sensitive about what you say & and what you post because the state of California is in mourning. The future of many have been vaporized overnight.
