DILLON BEACH GETAWAY Have you heard of Dillon Beach, California? It is a small, coastal community in Marin County that is perfect for a weekend getaway. Here is what to know: 🚗 Distance: expect about a 2.5-3 hour drive from the South Bay with most of your traffic coming from going through SF and/or bridge traffic 🏠 Where to stay: @dillonbeachresort is the only hotel with a variety of tiny cottages and larger cabins. We opted for a VRBO booked through @winecountrytocoast (Sea Breeze) which slept up to 8 people and allowed us to walk to the beach. 🥙 Dining: @dillonbeachresort has a general store with groceries and grab & go meals plus coffee and soft serve ice cream. They also have Coastal Kitchen available for lunch & dinner. We also drove to Valley Ford (about 20 min) for breakfast at @estero.cafe (several other spots in Valley Ford). This is a series focusing on cute, hidden gem, and iconic places to stay in California (that are affordable). 🌊 Let me introduce you to Dillon Beach Resort. This hotel is located in Marin County at Dillon Beach (near Bodega Bay). From SF and the East Bay, it took about 1.5 hours to get here. This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Bodega Bay/Point Reyes National Seashore! The resort is right on the beach and near lots of amazing hikes! This is the perfect place for a relaxing seaside escape. 🏄🏻‍♂️ Dillon Beach Resort is an affordable oceanside resort that is cute, updated, serene, and cozy! This is the perfect place to visit to escape from the city and get some fresh salt air. They even have an on site general store, restaurant (open only on weekends), grills, outdoor seating areas, and fire pits. Their cottages/cabins are 1-2 min walk from their private beach. 🏠 I stayed in their Cypress Cottage, a 330 square foot tiny home. This is the perfect size for a solo traveler or couple. This cottage is their most affordable option, costing $199/night (non-ocean view). There’s a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. This cottage is dog friendly! They also offer many other cottage and cabin options with ocean views! This resort has tiny homes and cottages that are family and dog friendly, with some offering ocean view rooms. The resort has their own private beach where your furry friend can run all day long⛱️. The resort also has their own general store with fresh prepackaged meals, snacks, drinks, and also a coffee shop. They also have their own coastal kitchen right next door 🍽️! I couldn’t believe how idyllic it was with the vast green fields and Pacific Ocean views, plus that cool rock formation! 💚 Know before you go: 🚗There’s a gravel pull-out next to the rocks for parking. ⛔️You can admire the view from the top of the rocks, but there is no official trail to the base.
