To solve back pain that is aggravated with exercise, you need 2 things: 1. Better mobility. There are parts of you, typically hips and ankles, that are stiffer than they should be. That makes you compensate or move more in your back, which causes pain. 2. Better stability or control. You don’t have good control over your lower back. And that isn’t a strength thing. It has to do with the muscles closest to your spine that control movement of the spine. If they aren’t working well-or at all, you’ll tend to compensate with back muscles, hip muscles and even thigh muscles in the attempt to support your back. The solution to both of these still involves exercise, but the target is NOT strength OR flexibility. It’s something else entirely.
