ROYesterday I posted a 60min clip about someone who froze their eggs and was disappointed in her outcome.
Rightfully so, if you aren’t educated or counseled properly then we live in a false reality.
Remember egg freezing isn’t a guarantee, it’s evolved since the early 2000s so some of the news worthy stories we are seeing may not apply to us current day.
Data from fertility research shows that egg quality and quantity both decline with age—and every stage in getting from egg to baby has its own obstacles.
That’s why younger women often need fewer eggs in the bank for the same odds.
Even under 35, to get a strong chance at a baby, about 15–20 frozen eggs are typically advised.
But once you’re in your late 30s or early 40s, those numbers increase dramatically—to 30 or more—to keep similar odds.
And remember: egg freezing is helpful—but not a guarantee.
It’s about giving yourself better odds, not depending on a miracle.
So breaking down these stories that we hear and don’t get the complete picture is important. This journey is scary to begin with, we don’t need more fear added to it.
