Chocolate chip “lactation” muffins This muffin recipe uses ingredients common in lactation cookies (oatmeal, flax, brewers yeast) to create a fluffy, moist muffin that is perfect for breakfast or as a snack throughout the day (and during middle of the night pumping/breastfeeding sessions). Do “lactation” cookies/ingredients work to increase supply? I honestly don’t know and I don’t think there’s definitive scientific evidence. So why do you eat these muffins? Because they’re delicious. Honestly, I just eat them because they taste good, have good ingredients and are easy to make, store and heat up for a quick meal/snack when I’m taking care of my newborn and toddler. My husband also loves them - this is the only way I can get him to eat oatmeal! 2 very ripe medium bananas 3/4 c greek yogurt 1/2 c milk 1/4 c maple syrup 1 egg 1/2 c flax meal 2 tbs brewers yeast (optional)* 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 c rolled oats 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)** *I use Kate Naturals brand from Amazon and haven’t noticed a bitter taste in the muffins. If you aren’t using these to support lactation, or you don’t have on hand just leave it out of the recipe **can sub out frozen blueberries, but I prefer mini chocolate chips. Can also do 1/3 c if you prefer less chocolate 1️⃣ preheat oven to 375° and prepare baking cups (either bake in silicone muffin cups or a well oiled metal muffin pan. Don’t use paper liners). In a large bowl, mash bananas and stir in yogurt, milk, maple syrup, egg, flax meal and vanilla extract. Let sit while you do step 2 2️⃣ combine oats, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a food processor/blender. Pulse until oats are brown down to the consistency of flour. Stir into wet mixture to combine, then stir in chocolate chips. 3️⃣ scoop into prepared muffin tin/silicone cups (makes 12). Bake 22-25 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes in pan then remove and finish cooling on a metal rack. ❄️ Can keep in an airtight container up to 3 days in the fridge- warm to serve. Stimuler la lactation 🤱 L'allaitement n'est pas toujours un long fleuve tranquille... sa mise en place peut parfois durer plusieurs semaines... Si tu as besoin de stimuler ta lactation tu peux: - Favoriser le peau à peau ++ avec ton bébé - Boire beaucoup d'eau - Te reposer (si bébé te le permets 🤪) - Te faire des tisanes de fenouil ou spécial allaitement - Prendre des aliments/plantes galactogènes (amandes, anis, cumin, flocons avoine,...) - Tirer ton lait - Faire des points d'acupressions sur l'auriculaire (cf --> Vidéo Réel) - Et surtout te faire accompagner par une conseillère en lactation, ta sage femme, une professionnelle de la périnatalité formée en allaitement... ⚠️ Car il faut aussi faire attention à ne pas te retrouver avec un engorgement ou autres à force de stimulation... Ce que je vous conseille régulièrement, pour être accompagnée au mieux, c'est de rencontrer une Conseillère en lactation. Elle pourra regarder une tétée, s'il y a un frein mécanique qui empêche que ta lactation se fasse : type mauvaise succion, frein de langue, lèvres,... et te donner trucs et astuces pour une bonne mise en place ! Mieux vaut ne pas t'en priver, pour un allaitement réussi ! Tu es du côté de la Drôme, Ardèche ou Isère aussi (mais proche Drôme)? --> Nous avons la chance d'avoir quelques conseillères en lactation, alors n'hésites pas à venir vers moi je pourrais t'en conseiller une en fonction de ta commune. 😉 Et toi, tu connaissais le point d'acupression sur l'auriculaire pour stimuler la lactation ?? 🤪 #bulledemereveille #allaitement #lactation #powerpumping #allaiterpartouttoutletemps #conseillereenlactation #ibclc #sagefemme #freindelangue #orl #tirelait #allaitementmaternel

Do you know somebody who is pregnant or just had a baby? 🤰 Do them a favour and make these lactation brownies 🙌❤️ They are so delicious I was requested to make a second batch immediately 😂 To make: Mix dry ingredients: 3/4 cup gf oat flour 1/4 cup brewers yeast 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 tsp baking powder 2 tbsp flax seeds In a separate bowl mix together 3 large eggs (could substitute for chia or flax eggs) 1/2 cup avocado oil 1/2 cup maple syrup 1/2 cup apple sauce 1 tsp vanilla extract Dairy-free chocolate chips (I chopped up pico chocolate) Mix the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just combined. Pour into a lined baking dish. Cook at 180 degrees Celsius for 25 - 30 minutes until the centre is cooked. Let it cool completely before cutting the brownie into 12 slices. This can be stored in the freezer for 3 months or in the fridge for 7 days. DISCLAIMER - check with your GP if brewers yeast is fine to consume as it can interact with some medications. Calories: 230kcal | Carbohydrates: 25g | Protein: 7g | Fat: 15g
