This is the Retevis RT97L. 25 watts, portable, waterproof, and dead simple to use. I tested it at 15 miles and got flawless signal. Longer range test coming soon. GMRS radios are more capable than most people realize. Hold volume up for two seconds for instant weather updates. Hold it again to turn them off when you’re done. Use the channel knob to switch channels and keep communication simple. Hold volume down for two seconds to set a privacy code using the channel selector. Repeaters are the next step if you want real range, and I’ll show how to use them soon. Having a few GMRS radios on hand is a practical investment.
