RTL SDR + ADSB at the Airport with ATAK 😎 This is how you can passively scan the air for open source data and push it into your team's sphere of awareness. Step 1. Get any ATAK EUD Step 2. Download ATAK from tak.gov along with the ADSB plugin. Step 3. Download RTL Driver on your EUD Step 4. Enable the plugin inside of ATAK Step 5. Plug in your RTL-SDR and navigate to the plugin menu and select ADSB, select ADSB receiver and tap the on button. A quick introduction of my two man pack radio builds. As you saw on the previous video, the FT-7900 I just built and the FT-857 that I’ve had built for a while. The rails and supporting equipment come from @armoloq. I also get some general stuff like the mic hangers from @district47.us. The means for digital modes comes from @thedigirig. all of these companies make great products. Putting all of these parts together into one build can seem tedious, but do it one part of the time and it comes together quick. I use the FT-857 more frequently than weekly at this rate. The functionality is incredible. I’m excited to start testing the FT-7900 here shortly. The FT-7900 manpack build is complete. The wiring looks slick, it works, and is fuse protected. I was asked what the goal for this radio was. I plan on putting it in an over the shoulder bag with some HT‘s, making it the base station to a event or emcomm field ready bag. The more powerful mobile unit tied with a taller antenna and large battery, is perfect for that application. though the project does look cool, it took a considerable amount of time. The only major negative I have this project so far, is that the battery box seems to be a little loose. When I get the right battery for the box, I hope that stiffens up. If it does not, I will add m-lol mounting bolts to the battery box lid to make it sturdy. **UPDATE** Wiggle in the battery box stopped when the proper battery size is installed.
