ERTÉ (1892-1990), LE FLAMBOYANT ⁠ Né à Saint-Pétersbourg sous les derniers fastes de la Russie tsariste, Romain de Tirtoff s'installe à Paris en 1912 où il prend pour pseudonyme Erté (composé à partir des initiales de son nom « R » et « T »). Artiste prolixe, touche-à-tout, il marque le monde artistique de son influence en exerçant son talent dans la mode, le théâtre, le cinéma, l'opéra et les cabarets. Ancien assistant du grand couturier Paul Poiret, Erté a acquis une glorieuse réputation en travaillant pour Harper’s Bazar, bible des élégantes des Années folles, puis pour les cabarets.
