An F1 Cavapoo is a 50/50 mix — one pure Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and one pure Poodle. That means half Cavalier, half Poodle. This generation often has beautiful variety in coat type, temperament, and size.
Now let’s talk about an F1B 🧸
The “B” stands for backcross (back breeding). This means an F1 Cavapoo is bred back to a Poodle. So genetically, an F1B is about 75% Poodle and 25% Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Why does this matter?
✨ Coat type – With more Poodle genetics, you’re more likely to see that soft, teddy bear look and curlier, lower-shedding coats.
✨ Allergy-friendly qualities – Many families prefer F1B because the higher Poodle percentage can mean less shedding.
