Text messages are easy to intercept, easy to phish, and easy to reroute during SIM-swap attacks. In this video, we’ll show you what to use instead of SMS, and how to close the gaps attackers exploit. Start by moving to phishing-resistant MFA. It uses cryptographic checks tied to your device and the real website, blocking authentication on fake login pages. Next, consider hardware security keys. They plug in or tap against your phone, and because there’s nothing to type, there’s nothing for attackers to steal online. If hardware keys aren’t practical, use authenticator apps. Local codes and number matching prevent push-fatigue. Passkeys are also gaining traction because they bypass passwords entirely and use biometrics to keep accounts secure.
