I would argue that foam rolling is better than “stretching” as a warm up for any workout! While stretching passively lengthens muscles and tendons, foam rolling helps direct blood flow straight to the areas that need it most while reducing restrictions that tight tissues can have on the entire body! Most people know of/own a foam roller, but hardly anyone has been taught a proper protocol on how to use it! Instead of mindless rolling back and forth, try “steamrolling” slowly over an area for 2-5 minutes while stoping and pressing down hard on the “sticky points”!
