UCIn February 2020, four-year-old Megan Khung tragically died in Singapore after suffering over a year of severe abuse by her mother, Foo Li Ping, and Foo's boyfriend, Wong Shi Xiang. The couple physically abused and starved her, forcing her to sleep in a planter box. After a fatal assault by Wong, Megan succumbed to her injuries. To cover up the crime, Foo and Wong, with the help of Nouvelle Chua Ruo Shi, burned her body and scattered the ashes at East Coast Park. The case remained undiscovered until Megan’s grandmother reported her missing in July 2020.
The case resurfaced in February 2025 when Foo and Wong pleaded guilty. Wong admitted to culpable homicide, while Foo pleaded guilty to child abuse and allowing Megan’s death. Their sentencing is set for April 3, 2025.

MOIn 2019 and 2020, Megan Khung was subjected to 13 months of physical and psychological abuse by her mother and her boyfriend, that led to her death at a condominium in Paya Lebar. She was four years old.
The couple, Foo Li Ping and Wong Shi Xiang, were sentenced to 19 years' and 30 years' jail respectively on Apr. 3, 2025.
In May 2025, the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) set up a review panel for the case.
The panel found that while there were "appropriate actions" taken by the agencies involved in some instances, there were also "areas where agencies could have done better".
