The forehand doesn’t start with the racket.
It starts with the left arm.
Here’s why it matters:
1️⃣ Regulates shoulder rotation
The left arm controls when and how much the shoulders rotate, preventing them from opening too early.
2️⃣ Measures real distance to the ball
The non-dominant arm acts as a spatial reference, helping the body understand where the contact point should be.
3️⃣ Improves timing (not just aesthetics)
High-level players use the left arm to set the rhythm of the preparation, so the swing arrives on time without forcing.
4️⃣ Creates shoulder–hip separation (X-factor)
Proper left-arm use improves hip–shoulder dissociation, which is key for power with control.
5️⃣ Reduces reliance on the dominant arm
When the left arm guides the preparation, the hitting arm stops pushing the ball.
6️⃣ Stabilizes the racket face
Better organization with both arms allows the racket to arrive more stable at contact.
7️⃣ Prevents late contact
Many timing issues come from poor left-arm management: the body opens early and contact happens late.
8️⃣ Improves energy transfer
The left arm helps power flow from the ground up, instead of coming only from the arm.
9️⃣ Improves dynamic balance
Especially on open-stance shots or when running, the left arm stabilizes the body axis.

Efficient preparation distributes effort and reduces long-term stress on the shoulder and elbow.

TEWatch how the racket goes high on the preparation
and then drops under the the level of the ball facing down and then lags a little bit ( butt cap leading)
and then opens up at contact
while moving up and forwards
and closing down after contact while following through!!
