George gave us a garden question to start and it was about willows, as we were creating a living willow tunnel at @wild.inthe.woodscic this weekend which George helped with as well as lots of other fantastic volunteers. We spoke to Ana about where her love of gardening came from. She also told us how her daughter waning to make a bit of money selling seeds led to her creating her own heirloom seed shop. I was fascinated to hear about the Brix meter that measures how sweet a tomato is. Thanks everyone for watching and contributing join us next week for another guest 💚

Not our usual Monday evening but what a joy and proud moment to have achieved our first talking gig and indoor container gardening demo! 🪴Last year Nikki and I were asked to talk about our background, our business journey and our 5 RHS Gold Medal winning exhibits! Since 2023 we have been exhibiting @rhshampton_showteam and @rhschelsea plus we had an amazing experiance @bbcgwlive in 2024! Last night we got to share more about it! 👩‍🌾It was wonderful to delve into our story, our passion and love of plants plus show the possibilities of indoor container gardneing. It was lovely to meet so many new local faces! We were honoured to be asked and thankful for such a lovely group of Gardening Club members at last nights monthly meeting! I am really looking forward to talking to Annie Guilfoyle at 6pm GMT about one of the unsung heroines of garden design — Joyce Robinson. Mrs. JH, as she was known, started the gardens here at Denmans in the late 1940s and in 1970 began using gravel as a growing medium. This very quickly became what we now call ‘gravel gardening’, but no one used that term then. Fierce, smart, and a brilliant horticulturalist (she’d probably never use that term herself), her garden caught the eye of John Brookes, the great landscape designer who moved here in 1980 and took over the Garden, expanding, stylising, and embellishing it….And here’s to you! We 're all looking forward to seeing her work in the Autumn edition - one of the perks of becoming a member of Plant Heritage!
