GI📍Godalming to Milford (or Godalming Circular) 🥾🍂🍻
**edit!** route has been tweaked to walk through Winkworth on the public walkway (thanks to the locals for letting us know about this!)
Winkworth Arboretum has been on our wish list for a while now, and the incredible autumn we are having was the perfect excuse to get there! It sealed the deal when we found a real gem of a pub close by. You’ve got a couple of options re routes for this walk too, depending on how energetic you’re feeling!
1. You can do the whole 17km from Godalming to Milford
2. You can do Godalming to the White Horse (for lunch) and then catch the 42 bus back to Godalming station, which is about 10km.
We did option 2 - Winkworth is actually a really big area to explore (and really worth a good look around!) so we felt like we’d done enough steps by lunch 🤣

📏 Distance - 10km (or 17km if you walk to Milford)
⏱️ Duration - 2.5 hours of walking (or 4 to Milford)
💪 Difficulty - easy
🍁 Winkworth - @winkworthnt was really magical, and so much bigger than we expected! You can walk through on the public walkway (marked in the route we’ve saved) or if you want to wander around more, it’s £14 for non NT members
🍻🍽️ Lunch spot - @whitehorsepubhascombe was such a beautiful pub, set in a quaint village, surrounded by glorious autumnal trees. It is really cosy inside, and also has a great outside area if you visit on warmer days. The food was incredible and the staff were lovely
🚂 Getting there - @sw_railway will take you to Godalming from either Waterloo or Clapham Junction in just under 45 mins. You can get back from Milford or Godalming on @sw_railway as well. If you want to finish walking after lunch, you can jump on the 42 bus just near the pub, back to Godalming station (Godalming village itself is really cute and worth a wander around as well! There were a few great looking pubs…perfect for one last drink before the train home 🙃

On Sunday 30 November, two determined First Year Specialists (Year 12), Tom and Ben, are taking on an epic 60km run – from our School in Godalming all the way to The Charterhouse in London! 🏫
They’re doing it all to support the amazing charity @f6it.charity, helping children with disabilities connect through fitness 🙌❤️

KEGreat to be out in Godalming with party members this morning.
I have been talking to local businesses to hear their concerns. Up and down the high street the message is the same; Labour’s terrible policies are harming business. From business rates increases to the jobs’ tax, Rachel Reeves is hitting businesses where it hurts. Young people are terrified about the jobs’ market, yet the Prime Minister is only focused on saving his own job. We can’t go on like this.
Only the Conservatives have a plan to slash businesses rates and reinvigorate the high street for independent pubs and shops around the country.
We will get Britain working again.
