You will grieve forever. Not every minute of every day. But forever in the way their absence will always be felt. And everyone waiting for you to move on? They’re waiting for an ending that never comes. You don’t get over it. You never do. You heal and rebuild yourself around the loss. Not by pretending it isn’t there, but by making space for what will always remain. That’s what you’re doing. Building a life that holds both the love and the loss. Both the person you were, and the person you’re becoming. You will be whole again, but you will never be the same. And thank God for that. Because being the same would mean they didn’t change you. It would mean their life didn’t reshape yours. It would mean the love could be erased. And it can’t. You wouldn’t want it to be. So when people keep asking when you’ll be “back to normal,” understand they’re asking the wrong question. There is no back. There’s only through. There’s only becoming someone who knows how to hold this and still find reasons to laugh. Who still finds moments of lightness. Who still shows up for the life they have left. Yes, you will grieve forever. Not as a life sentence, but as a love letter you keep writing. You’ll carry them in the songs that break you and the memories that heal you. In the nights when their absence feels impossible, and the days when you feel them everywhere. And somewhere in the middle of surviving, you’ll realize you’re living again. Not the life you planned. Not the life you wanted. But living proof that love doesn’t die when a person does. It just finds new places to bloom. No, you’ll never be the same. And that’s not the tragedy. That’s the point. -Jameson

The canvas came in the mail today and it’s beautiful. I know for some people it’s hard to understand why I choose to grieve before he passes, and why I choose to do it publicly. But this is my process. No one is going to convince me that I shouldn’t do it this way just because they wouldn’t. I hope the people who need to see this do, because anticipatory grief shouldn’t be taboo. You are allowed to grieve. You are allowed to feel everything before the moment comes. Anticipatory grief is one of the hardest things a parent can endure. I share mine publicly because this is my life. This is my reality. Every day for us is raw and emotionally heavy, and sharing it is an outlet for me. If you don’t understand it, that’s okay. But this is how I handle it. 💙 #norriedisease #griefjorney #terminalillness

Deportation didn’t just change our address 🧳 It changed how we see life. It took the comfort of what we knew, the routines that made life feel safe, and the certainty we thought we “earned” after 26 years 💔 Some days, we still grieve that life. The familiarity. The stability. The version of us that only existed there. But somewhere in the breaking… something else grew 🌱 Faith — when control was taken away 🙏 Perspective — on what truly matters ✨ Inner Child Healing ❤️‍🩹 And courage — because starting over was never the plan, but here we are 💪 This journey keeps teaching us that loss and gratitude can live in the same heart. That endings don’t mean the story is over. And that even when life forces change, purpose can still follow. We’re grateful for this humbling journey ✨ If you’re rebuilding after something you didn’t choose… you’re not behind. you’re not broken. you’re becoming. ✨ Thanks for being here 🫶🏻 #deportationstories #adayinmylife #pulangkampung #lifeafterdeportation #newlifechapter #newadventure #mentalhealth #grateful

What if your grief lasted longer than prescribed… and they called you insane? 🖤⏳ In Victorian Britain, mourning wasn’t just emotional — it was regulated. Widows were often expected to wear black and publicly grieve for up to two years. But here’s the twist: if a woman’s sorrow became “excessive,” it was labelled as hysterical or simply inconvenient. Under 19th-century lunacy laws, husbands and relatives could petition for women to be admitted to private asylums with alarming ease. “Prolonged grief” was only one reason. Women were also confined for religious enthusiasm, refusing marital “activities,” epilepsy, menstruation-related mood changes, postpartum distress, or even inheritance disputes. Independence itself could be reframed as instability. Once inside, discharge was not guaranteed. By the late 1800s, women made up a significant proportion of asylum patients across Britain — and many case notes reveal diagnoses rooted as much in social control as in medicine. Grieve too little? Cold. Grieve too long? Mad. Too devout? Unbalanced. Too defiant? Unwell. In a system built on narrow expectations, womanhood itself could become the diagnosis. This was Victorian Britain. The 1800s. Closer to us than we like to think. 🕯📜 . . . . #victorianera #victorianwomen #victorianhistory #womeninhistory #historyreels
