If your hamstrings feel like tight ropes, this stretch is your rescue. ✨ Benefits: • Deeply stretches the hamstring without overstressing it • Releases tension in the posterior chain • Improves leg mobility, especially useful for yogis, athletes, or desk workers • Great warm-up or cool-down drill ✅ Let’s Go Step-by-Step : • Lie down flat on your back. • Loop a yoga strap, resistance band, or towel around the arch of your left foot. • Keep your left leg lifted and static at 90°, knee extended but not locked. • Your right leg rests flat on the floor. • Grip the strap with both hands. • Keep your shoulders relaxed and grounded. • Flex both feet to activate calves and engage the legs. • On an inhale, slowly lift your right leg up towards the ceiling — try to reach the same height as the right. • On an exhale, lower the right leg back to the floor with control. • Keep the left leg steady using the strap this is your anchor. • Do 10–15 reps per leg, moving with your breath. Pls Note • Avoid jerky or fast movements.. the slower, the deeper the stretch. • Don’t force your raised leg to go completely vertical; go where it feels tight but not painful. • Keep lower back pressed into the mat. Most people STRETCH their HAMSTRINGS in one straight line… but each hamstring fibre needs a different position. Here’s how to stretch them in an isolated and targeted way for real results: 🔹 1. Semimembranosus – Isolated Stretch Step 1: Move the leg into abduction. Step 2: Add external rotation of the hip. Step 3: Hold this position for a gentle passive stretch. Step 4: For deeper results → do Abduction + External Rotation + METs • Push gently against resistance for 5 seconds And hold for 30 sec. 🔹 2. Biceps Femoris – Isolated Stretch Step 1: Move the leg into abduction with internal rotation. Step 2: Hold to feel the stretch along the outer hamstring line.
