Still plenty of bugs to iron out, plus a full wiring and hardware cleanup to do.
I also need to fine-tune the servo angles in software—some are only a few degrees off but can't be physically adjusted with enough resolution on the spline.
It’s satisfying seeing this finally move after sitting unfinished for years. The red wires are even sun-faded now. 😅 I first built the hardware when I didn’t have the Arduino skills to get it working with my RC setup—but after rebuilding most of the code from scratch, it’s finally coming together.

HEUpgrades in progress....
Completed:
– Designed a clip-on top shell
– Added braided sleeving to all servo wiring
– Moved the servo bus bars to the second layer with top-plate cut-outs
– Added proper standoffs for the Arduino and receiver
– Shortened DC-DC regulator leads, reducing interference
Still to do:
– Clean up the CAD model
– Fix remaining firmware bugs
– Remove proportional input and move to a fixed gait speed, as small inputs currently cause shuffling rather than translation
Longer term, the leg assemblies need a redesign and some of the prints are ugly. Rebuilding would be a big job, so for now it’s a case of: if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it. 👀
