ASAutism Support Group Launch•••
Exciting announcement!! I am offering support groups for members of the autistic community (18+), that means autistic adults/friend’s and family of autistic adults. You don’t have to be autistic to join!
I am so excited to be doing this because I know when I was first diagnosed I wanted a resource or group to join where I could talk to other people who might understand what I was going through. I really could not find anything and of the one or two resources I did come across, they were through insurance and extremely expensive, so I could not afford it.
I want these groups to serve as a resource for autistic community members who are navigating life and hoping to connect with other autistics for support, inclusivity, growth and awareness—to get more in touch and connected to other autistics, and also to yourself.
I am trained in group facilitation, and I am not a therapist so this is not therapy! If you are looking for therapy this will not serve that purpose. This is a support group to connect and learn with each other. We will talk about all different topics, like autism and friendships, romantic relationships, navigating work as an autistic person etc. No one is pressured to share and privacy is of utmost importance. These groups are all online so you must have your video on so that people feel safe and comfortable knowing who is behind the screen.
