🏨 Choosing the right hostel can make or break your trip, here’s how to pick one you’ll actually enjoy… 1️⃣ When you read reviews online, make sure to search for specific keywords based on what you care about (for me, it’s “bedbugs”, my worst nightmare) 2️⃣ If you’re not planning to party every night, I’d avoid staying in party hostels. Book something nearby instead, so you can still join the fun but return to some peace and quiet. 3️⃣ Look for dorms with curtains in every bed when possible, the extra privacy is much appreciated in crowded rooms! 4️⃣ Don’t assume that an en-suite bathroom is better in shared dorms😅 It’s usually pricier, noisier and not always cleaner 5️⃣ Female-only dorms tend to be more crowded, so if you’re comfortable with mixed rooms, they’re often quieter since they come with fewer roommates 👌🏼 Bonus tip ✨ bring a pillowcase for a clean place to lay your face, and always pack flip-flops for the communal showers! Have you had bad experiences staying in hostels before? What tips would you ad to this list? I’d love to know! 💕

…survive! 😂 Staying at my first hostel in Europe felt like the first day of school—but with bunk beds, strangers, and zero idea where the bathrooms were. 🎒😅🇪🇺 🚀 Comment “EUROPE HOSTELS” and I’ll send you my full guide—hostels I booked, what I paid, and how I found the best spots using Hostelz (they compare Hostelworld & Booking, and show more cities too). 📌 SAVE THIS if you’re hostel-curious or about to book your first one. I was nervous. Like… What if everyone’s already friends? What if it’s weird? What if someone steals my flip-flops?? But here’s what actually happened—and how I managed to not just survive, but love my first hostel stay: 👋 1. I said HI first In the kitchen. In the dorm. At breakfast. It was awkward for 0.2 seconds, then suddenly I had dinner plans with three people from three different continents. Everyone’s there to meet people—so break the ice. ✅ Always, always check Hostelz.com to find hostels! They compare prices from Hostelworld and Booking, showing the all beds and prices. It easily saves you money! AND: they have special filters like best hostels for female solo traveler and PARTY Hostels! 🧳 2. I packed smart Quick-dry towel, earplugs, eye mask, small lock = ESSENTIALS. And a laundry bag. Hostels = chaotic closets. Having my stuff organized gave me peace. 🛏️ 3. I picked a good one Not all hostels are made equal. I filtered for female-only dorms and social vibes on Hostelz.com—saved money, found places with free dinners, walking tours, even rooftop yoga. 🍝 4. I joined the awkward hostel dinner—and it was the best thing I did Even if it’s “pasta night” for the third time that week, group meals = instant friendships. Plus, someone always knows a better bar to go to after. 💬 5. Everyone feels weird at first Nobody talks about this—but that “first hostel energy” is real. You feel out of place for a second… then it clicks. You realize you’re surrounded by people just like you—curious, slightly lost, and craving connection. If you’re nervous about your first hostel stay—same. But now? I’d never travel Europe any other way.

These are the worst hostel tips for Europe I have found. People recommending to not prebook? Congrats: you’ll pay MORE and the great hostels are sold out. According to some users on Reddit, prebooking is not a good idea…and I know why they say that: this way others don’t book their beds. Prebook for high season in Europe! We love Hostelworld. Buuuut: they don’t have all hostels and no always the best price. You need to compare. Check for free prices on Hostelz.com. They compare prices from Hostelworld, Booking etc! You’ll always find the best prices and all hostels. Staying outside the center is a good idea but pay attention. It can come at the price of time and money (on public transport!) And finally: pick a social hostel if you want that! Hostelz has that SOCIAL SCORE. It shows how social a hostel is. And Hostelworld shows the events too. Very useful! Any questions, please comment 🫶 Comment BEST HOSTELS if you want my hostel guide

⭐️REVIEWS!! I usually don’t book a hostel if the reviews dip to 3 or lower 📍Location. Unless you plan to only stay in your hostel, it makes a huge difference to have restaurants, transportation, town centers, etc., within walking distance. 😎The hostel vibe (based on reviews). I like to see how loud/social the hostel is. I will be avoiding the party hostels like the plague; sleep is too important for me 🛏️Bedroom arrangements. This will depend on personal preference. Most hostels have 1-2 bed bedrooms, but have to be booked more ahead of time as they sell out fast. Some also have women’s/men only dorms. ⚠️Bed curtains. This makes such a huge difference in your comfort and privacy while in the room and sleeping 🌴The surrounding hangout/lounge area. You’d be surprised how beautiful hostels’ property spaces can be! 🍻Activities. Usually, hostels have fun activities such as cooking classes, bar hopping, etc. It’s a great way to meet people in your hostel 🧼Cleanliness. No hostel is worth it if it is gonna make you uncomfortable and gross the whole time. 🤳Safety and convenience. Do they have security on premises? Are you able to store your luggage if check-in isn’t ready? Does the room have a lock or space for your stuff? Do they offer breakfast? These little things add up 🎰It’s a gamble sometimes. I’ve stayed at great hostels, but the terrible roommates made it a horrible experience. But I’ve also met the best people ever at hostels. Just remember, if you ever are stuck in an uncomfortable experience, whether the host or the guests it’s best to inform staff or leave before a situation escalates🏃‍♀️ . . . #womensolotravel #hostellife❤️ #hostelvibes
