so many of you have been asking my dad to teach more: the little things, the etiquette, the way he speaks and explains things so gently. and he will. but there’s something he wants you to remember first. most of what he teaches didn’t come from classrooms or fancy schools. life taught him. people taught him. experiences taught him. and maybe that’s exactly why he made sure his children learned these things too so that one day, when we sit at any table in the world, we never feel small or out of place. but learning these things was never about judging others. it was never meant to become a yardstick to measure people. knowledge should make you humble, not arrogant. it should help you share, not belittle. learn these things for your own growth. carry them with grace. and pass them on with kindness. my dad’s journey and the life he has lived is honestly one for the books. one day I’ll share more about it. for now, we’re just grateful that his simple lessons from home have somehow found their way to so many of you. 🤍 [ adeel barki, adeel burki, #adeelbarki #adeelburki ]

One of my favorite concepts to teach…gravity and inertia! 🥎 This is the very first thing I do before teaching about inertia 🥎 I tell students to keep their arms up like a T-Rex (they can’t move their arms the entire time) 🥎 I tell them to release the ball when they get over the bucket, but they have to keep running! 🥎 Every student does this once. 🥎 I ask students why the ball never made it in the bucket, and it’s a great intro to inertia! Parents often say no to protect, guide, and teach boundaries. It comes from care, responsibility, and the desire to keep children safe. Saying no is an important part of parenting.🍂 At the same time, not every unusual action is mischief. Sometimes children are experimenting, being creative, or trying to show kindness in ways we may not immediately understand. When we pause for a moment before reacting, we may discover the intention behind the action curiosity, empathy, or imagination trying to find its way.🌻💕 Parenting isn’t about never saying no. It’s about finding a balance between guiding and understanding. The first thing I teach you before we even pick up a weight is how to properly engage your core and pelvic floor. Boring, but life changing. If you are doing the challenge, go to the Start Here section and start practicing now!! If you don’t know how to properly engage your deep core (especially if you are a mom), then you can do all the core exercises in the world and you’ll never see results. Almost every woman I coach, when asked to inhale….will breathe up into her chest and shoulders instead of down into her body. I blame society, but that’s another post. LEARN HOW TO BREATHE for actual core healing results: 1️⃣ place your hands firmly on each side of your rib cage 2️⃣inhale through your nose and feel that your ribs expand laterally (like an umbrella opening) 3️⃣exhale audibly out your mouth like a weirdo making a HAAAAA or SSSSS sound. 4️⃣as you exhale, think about pulling your belly in toward spine and up toward your heart.
