I have a feeling we are going to start seeing a lot of these pop up all along our coastlines as people try to figure out what to do/build/buy/sell after the storms hit our beaches hard. Mad Beach Inn is a boutique hotel in Madeira Beach who gets close to 4 million tourists a year to Johns Pass and other areas. I’ve spent a ton of time and worked with people building, redeveloping and planning on how they can make Madeira the best beach town. What kind of places do you want to see designed and built in these beach towns that got beat up really bad in the hurricanes ? #madbeachinn #madeirabeach #realtampabay

Beach nourishment is ongoing across Pinellas County, and Zach Westfall, one of our coastal scientists, has answers to your most common questions. 🪻 Planting: Local, Florida native dune plants such as sea oats, railroad vine, and panic grass will be planted once sand placement is complete to help strengthen and protect the dunes. 🏝️ Sand: The sand comes from local areas where sand naturally builds up at Johns Pass, Blind Pass, and Egmont Shoals. These inlets have previously been used for beach nourishment projects and have been approved by state and federal agencies. ⌚️ Timing: This project is federally permitted until March. We have 24/7 operations to get the project completed as soon as possible. Funding: This project is funded by state grants and the Tourist Development Tax, also known as the bed tax, or as we like to say, “From Visitors with Love.” 📲 You can learn more about the project at the Beach Nourishment Project link in our bio.
