Studies suggest that just 10 seconds after someone speaks up, bullying will stop more than half of the time.
But only 1 out of 5 kids actually do that.
This is the benefit of autism. If Campbell sees an injustice, she speaks. She doesn’t care about social norms or fitting in. She just wants to do the right thing.
And maybe that’s the takeaway for all of us:
Sometimes the bravest response isn’t silence.
It’s choosing to speak so we can stop the hurt.
