FCC PARTNERS MINISTRY OF YOUTH TO DEEPEN NATIONAL INCLUSION The Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Kayode Oladele, has met with the Minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, in a strategic move to address youth unemployment and strengthen national inclusion. The high-level meeting focused on developing joint frameworks that will guarantee equitable access to employment opportunities for youths across all regions of the country. Both leaders emphasized the need for policies that reflect federal character principles to foster unity and bridge regional disparities. Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Kayode Oladele noted: > "This is a strategic engagement between institutions that share a common vision — building a just, united, and prosperous Nigeria through fairness, equity, and equal opportunity for all, especially the youth and students who represent the largest demographic and the future leadership of this country." On his part, Hon. Ayodele Olawande stressed the importance of diversifying opportunities for young Nigerians: > "I think there should be a channel between the Federal Character Commission and the Ministry of Youth to consolidate efforts — not only to integrate young people into the civil service, but also to open pathways that can engage many of them outside government jobs, thereby reducing the restiveness among our youth." Radio Nigeria – Uplifting the People, Uniting the Nation FCC ACTING CHAIRMAN: MEDIA A STRATEGIC PARTNER IN PROMOTING FEDERAL CHARACTER The Acting Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Mr. Kayode Oladele, has emphasized the vital role of the media in promoting the core values enshrined in the Federal Character Principle. Speaking during an interactive session with journalists at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja, Mr. Oladele described the media as a strategic partner in fostering fairness, inclusiveness, and unity in government appointments, employment, and infrastructure distribution. “In a country as diverse and complex as Nigeria, information is power, and communication is a bridge,” Mr. Oladele said. “The media plays a critical role in shaping perceptions, informing the public, and holding institutions accountable. But beyond that, it is a key ally in promoting the core values of the Commission—fairness, balance, and national integration.” The Acting Chairman noted that a major challenge confronting the FCC is public perception, which he attributed to widespread misconceptions about the Commission's mandate and operations. “There is a general lack of public awareness about what we stand for and what we do. When I assumed office, I met a demoralized workforce—largely due to leadership issues and poor funding,” he revealed. Mr. Oladele reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to transparency and inclusivity, pledging to adopt an open-door policy in the interest of national unity and development. He stressed that strategic collaboration with the media would help counter misinformation, disinformation, and mistrust arising from perceived marginalization in federal appointments or resource allocation. SPEECH DELIVERED BY HON. KAYODE OLADELE, ACTING EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, FEDERAL CHARACTER COMMISSION, AS CHAIRMAN OF THE OCCASION AT THE 56TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF SENATOR SOLOMON OLAMILEKAN ADEOLA (YAYI) Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, Our celebrant, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, once said: “I am going to celebrate something today.” In his unique way, he has always chosen to celebrate not with mere words or private gatherings, but with empowerment programmes that directly impact the lives of the people. Just a few weeks ago, we set up a committee to organise today’s empowerment initiative, and the results are remarkable. As we gather here in Ilaro, the headquarters of Ogun West Senatorial District, 102 Community Development Associations (CDAs) across Ogun State are simultaneously receiving 102 transformers, which will serve 405 communities. What is striking about this gesture is that these transformers are not limited to his own senatorial district — Ogun West — but are being distributed across all three senatorial districts in Ogun State: Ogun Central, Ogun East, and Ogun West. As Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission, I can say without hesitation that this reflects the very essence of our mandate: equitable distribution of infrastructural amenities to all parts of the federation. Senator Adeola has consistently demonstrated fairness, inclusion, and a commitment to the development of every community. His empowerment programmes cut across political, ethnic, and religious boundaries. They are not driven by narrow interests but by the desire to improve lives and foster unity. That is why today’s occasion is more than a birthday — it is a celebration of impactful leadership, transformational representation, and a lifelong commitment to service. This morning, I issued a public statement in which I said: > “The 56th birthday of Senator Adeola is not just a personal milestone. It is a celebration of impactful leadership, transformational representation, and a lifelong commitment to public service and philanthropy. As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, he has played a pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s fiscal prior

EGBA LOKAN AGENDA RECOGNIZES SENATOR ADEOLA AS OGUN GOVERNORSHIP HOPEFUL FOR 2027 According to THISDAY, Hon. Kayode Oladele, a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, has expressed satisfaction with the efforts of the "Egba Lokan Agenda 2027." This coalition, aimed at supporting the emergence of an Egba indigene as Ogun State governor in 2027, recently recognized Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (popularly known as Yayi) as one of its key aspirants. The group, led by Prof. Yemi Oke (SAN), issued a statement affirming its commitment to inclusivity in identifying qualified Egba candidates. The group defined an Egba indigene as anyone with either paternal or maternal ties to Egba lineage. Prof. Oke also revealed a list of potential aspirants, including notable figures like former Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole, Ambassador Sharafa Adetunji Ishola, Senator Lanre Tejuosho, and Senator Adeola, whose mother hails from Kemta in Abeokuta. Others on the list include Hon. Olumide Osoba, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello, Finance Minister Chief Wale Edun, Lagos Deputy Governor Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, and Lagos House Speaker Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa. Reacting to the recognition of Senator Adeola, Hon. Oladele commended the Egba Lokan Agenda for upholding Egba traditions of fairness and inclusivity. He emphasized that Yayi, by virtue of his maternal heritage from Kemta—a prominent section of Egba Ake—has full rights as an Egba indigene. Oladele described the acknowledgment as a significant step toward uniting the Egba community. With Governor Dapo Abiodun’s term set to end in 2027, the Egba Lokan Agenda seeks to ensure the next governor emerges from the Egba sub-ethnic group, further balancing Ogun State’s leadership history.
