This is exactly how you will be able to improve your lateral raises. Remember the focus should not be the dumbbell or cable handle but the positioning of your elbow to your shoulder. The further away the weight is from your body the heavier it will feel. That is gravity for you. Try this next time you give them a go!

Proud chest: Bring the bar down to meet your chest. Control the eccentric: Take 2-3 seconds on the way up to keep those muscles under tension. The Don’ts: Avoid excessive momentum: This isn’t a full-body workout; it’s an isolation exercise. No behind-the-neck pulls: It’s hard on the shoulders and can cause pain. Don’t pull past your chest: Keep the focus on your lats, not your traps and rear delts. Seated cable row cheat code ?? Definitely an improvement from the first demonstration he displayed and also yeah most people do perform this movement wrong but it’s more to do with having to stabilise their bodies with a strong foothold on the feet pads and holding their body weight + the weight they are pulling with their lower back. Most people lean back because their upper back is strong enough to move the weight but their lower back fatigues far too quickly if they begin to hinge the hips forward. So Key Points: -Chest supported over non-chest supported for maximum focus on working muscles, more predictable progression, Lower back strength or injury is not a limiting factor, stability is provided by a solid metal frame not your skinny bitch legs 😂😉 -Wide grip attachment over narrow grip during any back movement, Better range of motion, prevents elbows flaring out to over compensate, not limited by attachment hitting torso without being fully contracted, shape of bar allows further contraction, Allows you to align arm/elbow path to target lats more. The one we NEVER make progress on 😅🙋🏼‍♀️ Lat raises are a key exercise if you’re wanting to build that sculpted back and shoulders BUT being real.. we all kinda hate them And if you can’t seem to get the hang of them, you’re going to hate them even more 🤷🏼‍♀️ Main pointers are that the movement should be driven by the elbows NOT the hands… the hands should just be following the direction the elbows are setting And they most definitely don’t need to be lifted any higher than shoulder height 🙅🏼‍♀️ Keep it nice and light, always focus on nailing your form first and the weight will increase with time (Maybe a kilo up next year?!)
