SYFrom a late-night idea in Italy to a one-of-one sculptural piece—this bag is finally complete!
While traveling in Italy, my client called me and said she wanted a brown alligator bag—and she wanted me to make it. Her only requests? That it be structured and able to hold her makeup and iPad. After months of conversations, we decided to incorporate a torn vintage bag she had inherited as the lining pocket, giving new life to something sentimental. She later requested that her initials be stamped into the bag making it even more personalized.
Structurally, this was a challenge—I reinforced every inch to ensure it could handle the weight. The owl head hardware was hand-sculpted by my father, @hkregharrison. We then used the lost wax casting process to cast it in sterling silver before plating it in gold. In the end, my client decided to name this bag after my father, Kreg.
I’m so grateful to those who have trusted me to create pieces inspired by their life stories. I used to only design bags that held personal meaning to me, but I’ve found so much joy in crafting pieces that are meaningful to others.
