NBVideo shows the moment a man attacked a crossing guard in Darby Borough, Pennsylvania.
The incident occurred Monday, March 16, around 3:50 p.m. at the intersection of South 6th and Walnut streets.
Video obtained by NBC10 shows a man running after the crossing guard on the sidewalk. He then briefly stops and stands in front of the crossing guard. The man then punches the crossing guard in the face, knocking the victim to the ground, before running off.
Police have not revealed the crossing guard’s condition but described them as someone who “works daily to keep our children and neighbors safe.”

Police Chief Joe Gabe said the crossing guard was temporarily blocking traffic in the intersection. A man driving a gold Nissan Altima started yelling obscenities at her, then got out of his car and chased her.
“He chases after her, grabs her from behind and strikes her with a closed fist in the right side of her face,” said Gabe. The guard was knocked to the ground and lost consciousness. She was taken to the hospital and has since been released.
Police ask anyone with information about the suspect to contact them.
