Live. Song: Selling The Drama. 1994. Live is another staple band in many people life’s. As an adolescent I learned to play a guitar so I could play the opening to Bombtrack (rage), and play Live songs in our makeshift band. One of the groups that I credit with my love of music originally. They set what was almost like the soundtrack for those coping with the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing with “Lightning Crashes” and album Throwing Cooper seemed to be full of hits in the 90’s. The song Selling the Drama started out as being about “the world at large and the state of the leader and led” and the tactics political and religious figures use to manipulate the public. But in retrospect, it hit Kowalczyk on a personal level. “After it was recorded, I sort of realized that it could apply to what we do as well, which is a public speaking of sorts,” he said in a 1994 interview. “But yet, it just feels really good, but yet we should probably say something constructive to people, but yet we’re not really sure why or how or what we’re doing at times.” @thechadgracey Correct me if anything is out of line 😉 #live #music #bestsongs #sellingthedrama #alternativerock #rock #90s

Live - "All Over You" (Live, 1995) Recorded live for the Dutch music show '2 Meter Sessies'. Live's third album 'Throwing Copper' (1994) is not only the band's most popular, but potentially one of the most popular American albums of the 1990s. Featuring (in addition to "All Over You") hits like "I Alone", "Lightning Crashes", and "Selling the Drama", 'Throwing Copper' resonated with people all around the world. Subsequent albums by the band also sold well and had some successful singles, but Live never again reached the mega-highs of 'Throwing Copper'. The original four members remained with the group from its formation in 1989 through to 2009, when a dispute between frontman Ed Kowalczyk and the remaining three members arose. This led to Kowalczyk departing the band and Live recruiting a new lead singer. Kowalczyk rejoined the band in 2016, and until 2022 the original line-up was back intact. However, in June 2022, the band fired guitarist Chad Taylor, and in September of that year, Kowalczyk fired the two remaining original members, Patrick Dahlheimer and Chad Gracey, leaving Kowalczyk now as the sole official member.
