4 Mistakes to Avoid When Studying for the LSAT: 1. Not Writing Timed Practice Tests - I say this all the time, but timed PTs, meaning full old LSAT tests, are without a doubt the BEST way to prepare for the test. They provide the best indication of your LSAT abilities, and test every skill necessary to succeed on the LSAT. 2. Studying without an understanding of Argument Structure - Nearly every LR question involves an argument, and understanding the breakdown of the different elements of an argument make answering these questions so much easier! 3. Studying “when you feel like it” - There’s no getting around it, studying for the LSAT is not always fun, and there’s going to be many times when you “don’t feel like studying today”. However, improvement on the LSAT requires discipline. Hold yourself to a standard and schedule, and don’t break that. 4. Studying while you’re over-occupied - Although many people study for the LSAT while in school or while working, I would recommend to ensure that when you study for the LSAT, you don’t feel like you’re just barely fitting it in with your busy schedule. Studying requires mental focus, so make sure you actually have the time, otherwise you’re studying won’t be as effective. #fyp #lsat #lsatprep #lawschool #lawstudent #lawyer #suitsnetflix

AIM FOR 1500+ ON YOUR SAT!!! Your SAT score is a significant part of the formula used to calculate your academic index, which is the score that admissions officers will use to determine if you are qualified to do well in the classes at an Ivy League college. You should aim for a 1500+ on the SAT to be a strong competitor

It’s actually REALLY easy to improve your SAT score if you know the right strategies. Here are my Top 5: 1. Craft Your Own Precise Answer (COPA) – Reading: Instead of jumping straight into the answer choices, first write down your own answer on scratch paper after reading the passage. This keeps you focused on what the text actually says and stops you from getting swayed by tempting-but-wrong options. Example: If a passage says a new school design improves learning, your COPA might be: “innovative = good.” 2. Plug In Numbers (PIN) – Math: When a question feels abstract with lots of variables, just plug in your own simple numbers (like 2 or 3) to make it concrete. Example: If a question has variables like x and y, pick x = 2 and see which answer works. You’ll usually get to the right answer faster than solving the whole equation algebraically. 3. Don’t Trust Your Ear – Writing: The SAT is full of answers that are grammatically wrong but feel natural in conversation. Instead, focus on actual grammar rules like subject-verb agreement, idioms, or pronoun use. Example: “Each of the players are…” sounds okay, but it should be “Each of the players is…” because “each” is singular. 4. First Read the Question – Reading: Before diving into a passage, read the question first. That way, you know exactly what to look for and can avoid wasting time trying to understand everything. Example: If the question asks about the author’s tone, you’re now reading with tone in mind, not trying to remember every fact. 5. Ignore Prepositional Phrases – Writing: To spot grammar errors faster, mentally cross out prepositional phrases (like “of the students” or “with the red hat”). These phrases often get in the way of identifying the true subject and verb of a sentence. Example: In “The group of students are excited,” it seems like “students” is the subject but it’s actually “group,” so the correct verb is “is.” Of course, these are just a few of the many strategies you need to learn… 📘 If you want my full FREE Digital SAT Guide (over 40 pages!), comment DSAT and I’ll send it to you! #UltimateIvyLeagueGuide #TestOptionalTruth #DigitalSAT #DSAT #UltimateMentor #UILG
