Why do people underestimate frame design? Because the frame usually looks simple. It is not the flashy part of the machine. It does not spin, light up, or make noise. So a lot of attention goes to motors, sensors, and controls first. But the truth is, the frame is the machine. Everything depends on it. You can put a powerful motor on a weak structure, but if the frame flexes under load, the whole system starts to fight itself. Now your precision is off. Your repeatability drops. Parts do not feed the same way twice. Suddenly the problem is not the motor or the controls. It is the foundation underneath them. I see this a lot in machine design. People want to upgrade components first, when the real bottleneck is stiffness. A good frame gives you stability, alignment, and consistency. It lets every other part do its job properly. So the lesson is simple: Design the frame first. Simulate or test rigidity early. Upgrade the structure before chasing bigger components. Start with a solid foundation.
