ANミレーなどの“アミアミ”のアンダーを着て
「このおかげで上のシャツが濡れてないんです！」
と嬉しそうに話す50代男性の方がいたので今回の投稿。
ご本人にも直接伝えましたが、
「それ、アンダーが汗を吸って留めているだけ。」
ドライレイヤーが機能しておらず、汗が肌側に溜まっている状態です。
その結果…
・肌が冷えて低体温リスク🥶
・乾かず不快😖
ミレーに限らず登山用アンダーは、「汗を吸い上げて上のレイヤーへ渡す」ことで真価を発揮します。
だからこそ、上のシャツはややぴったりめが基本。
ゆるすぎると汗が届かず、拡散も乾燥も遅れます。
アミアミ1枚での着用は機能的に意味なし🙅♂️
ウェアは、“目的を理解して重ねる”ことが大切です。

“The Importance of Layering”
I met a runner today wearing a mesh base layer like MILLET, TNF and saying with a smile:
“Thanks to this, my top shirt stays dry!”
I told him honestly:
“Actually… the mesh is just holding the sweat.
It’s not transferring moisture to your outer layer.”
When the base layer doesn’t work properly, sweat stays on your skin.
That leads to:
・Body getting cold → hypothermia risk
・Uncomfortable, never-dry feeling
Mountaineering-style base layers (including MILLET) only work when they pull sweat off your skin and pass it to the next layer.
That’s why your outer shirt needs to be slightly fitted.
If it’s too loose, sweat never reaches it — drying becomes slow and inefficient.
Your clothing works only when you understand the purpose of each layer and stack them correctly.
