TEthe mobile softee ice cream trucks weren’t a rare sight around where I lived in Tuen Mun when I was younger but now I have to visit areas like mong kok, tst etc. to catch them. So it made me super nostalgic when I came across one near the central ferry pier the other day. According to my parents, the soft ice cream used to be $7, now it’s $13 🥲

🍦 1970년대 처음 홍콩에 등장한 Mister Softee!
50년 가까이 거리의 풍경이 되어준 파란 트럭🚚
원래는 미국에서 온 프랜차이즈였지만,
2010년대부터는 **‘Mobile Softee’**라는 이름으로
홍콩 로컬 브랜드화 되었어요.
그래도 우리에겐 여전히 *“Mister Softee”*라는 이름이 더 익숙하죠💙
요즘은 침사추이 스타페리 앞, 센트럴 선착장,
코즈웨이베이, 몽콕 거리 등에서 마주칠 수 있어요.
꼭 찾겠다고 하면 안 보이고,
무심코 걷다 보면 마주치는 그런 작은 행운✨
하얀 바닐라콘 한 입에 담긴 어린 시절의 추억.
지금도 그 맛은 변함없답니다!

🍦 Mister Softee first arrived in Hong Kong in the 1970s,
and for nearly 50 years, its iconic blue truck has been part of the city’s streets 🚚
Originally an American franchise, it was rebranded in the 2010s as “Mobile Softee,”
now a truly local Hong Kong brand.
But to most of us, it’s still just “Mister Softee” 💙
You might spot one near Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier, Central Ferry Piers,
Causeway Bay, or Mong Kok —
but only if you're lucky.
Try to find it and you won’t… but walk with no plans, and there it is.
A sweet little surprise on a random day✨
One bite of that classic vanilla cone,
and suddenly, you’re back in childhood.
