✈️🌴⚾️Heading to Florida for Spring Training work… ⠀⠀ So I thought I’d share the mobility flow I did before boarding. 🎥The video is 4xs speed, so it actually took about 2 minutes. WATCH TO THE END TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I’M INTERRUPTED BY ANOTHER TRAVELER.🤷‍♀️ Those of you who’ve followed me awhile, know I’m a big proponent of proactively standing and moving as much as possible when traveling. It’s so important to MOVE in between bouts of prolonged sitting!⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⏱With ample time before boarding, I always take a walk to find a somewhat empty gate area to stretch out and move through all three planes of motion, #minutemoflow style.⠀⠀ Do you practice airport mobility or other strategies to tame travel tension?⠀ Share in the comments.👇👇👇 Also…anyone else love their vivobarefoot shoes for travel?!🤔 ⠀⠀ Whenever I post about #airportmobility✈️, I get DMs asking for advice on where, what & how long. So, my answers are below.👇⠀⠀ BTW, for those of you worried about what other people think—why?? For every person giving you side eye, there’s someone like the guy at the end of this video who was inspired and approached me for advice on his chronic back pain.😊👍 ⠀⠀ ✅How long, what & where depends on circumstances. You need to have some “court awareness.” I’ve seen some clueless folks stretching in “open” areas that are actually spaces where people need to pass through. It’s inconsiderate...and dumb. C’mon.🤦‍♀️⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ✅Is it crowded? Without walking too far, you can usually find an empty/less crowded gate. Maybe your airport even has a yoga room.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ✅Figure out 3-7 moves you can do in the space you have in no more than 5 minutes. Move through all planes of motion (forward/backward, side-to-side & twisting) while focusing on areas that tend to get tight while sitting.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ✅STAND at your gate waiting to get on your plane. Why sit when you’re about to be stuck sitting on your flight? Aber die Effekte auf den Körper sind enorm - vor allem für Rücken, Bandscheiben, Schultern, Nacken und das Nervensystem☝🏼 ➡️ Was regelmäßiges Aushängen bewirken kann: ✅ Entspannung für das Nervensystem: Das Nervensystem verläuft entlang der Wirbelsäule. Durch die sanfte Dekompression kann mechanischer Druck reduziert werden - das kann dem System helfen, in einen ruhigeren, entspannteren Zustand zu wechseln! ✅ Entlastung der Bandscheiben: Die Wirbelsäule wird leicht „auseinandergezogen“, wodurch Druck reduziert und die Versorgung der Bandscheiben unterstützt werden kann! ✅ Mehr Beweglichkeit in Schultern & Nacken: Der Schultergürtel bekommt wieder mehr Bewegungsfreiheit, Spannungen können sich regulieren und die Haltung profitiert auch! ✅ Weniger Rückenschmerzen: Viele spüren ein „leichteres“ Gefühl im Rücken und mehr Länge in der Wirbelsäule - besonders bei viel Sitzen oder einseitiger Belastung! ✅ Mehr Griffkraft: Stärkere Unterarme, bessere Haltekraft und mehr Sicherheit im Alltag! Let's talk about moving *beyond* motivation. 💪⁠ ⁠ We all know the feeling of being hyped to hit the gym or crush a workout… and for many of us, that motivation to train is officially stamped into our tissues. ⁠ ⁠ But let's take it a step further... I'm talking about feeling our feelings. And *not* doing something simply out of mere habitual practice. ⁠ ⁠ Sometimes we wake up and feel like we can't go hard that day. ⁠ ⁠ In our family, we call that your "desire to train," and it's important to listen to it.⁠ ⁠ If you're feeling worn out, don't be afraid to swap a hard workout for something like a walk, some light mobility work, or playing a sport. ⁠ ⁠ Listen to your body (feel your feels, bruh)—it's trying to tell you when to push and when to rest.⁠ ⁠ We aim for high consistency instead of rigid programs that feel like a "must-do." ⁠ ⁠ Some days, your body and brain won't be in sync with what's on the calendar, and that's fine. 📆⁠ ⁠ Trust yourself to make the right call, and you'll find that you can stay consistent and enjoy your workouts more (and that desire might ramp up big time after a day where it's barely keeping its head above water). ⁠ ⁠ Ready to get to that next level of consistency? ⤵️⁠ ⁠ Comment SYSTEM to learn about our approach to training with equilibrium!
