RIModeling is NOT easy in India. Here’s the truth no one tells you:
1. Open castings have long queues of aspiring models.
2. Indian agencies hold very few castings (only 1–2 a year). If you’re not selected, they just say “THANK YOU” without giving a reason — unlike foreign agencies, which explain things like height or body type.
3. Most castings happen only in Mumbai and Delhi. If you're from a small city, you have to convince your family and travel there.
4. Agencies have strict height and body type criteria. Even if you qualify, the competition is HUGE.
5. Indian agencies rarely reply to rejected models who had applied through email . Agencies should at least give feedback so that models can improve.
6. Men's fashion modeling in India is way more limited compared to women's. Men often have to build content, act, and do much more to survive in this industry.
7. You have to invest initially in your modeling portfolio to start your career in this industry if no agency is taking you. Also, you have to spend your own hard-earned money on casting travel expenses and food. No one will give you anything.
8. You should make friendship with rejection early in this field, otherwise you will get hurt a lot if you are rejected in open casting or don't get a reply from an agency. I have discussed the main problems I have faced so far in the caption. I wanted to mention more, but the reel description has its limits.
