MUA fire in the Powai Hills area of Mumbai has reportedly been burning for nearly two days, raising concern among residents living nearby.
The fire was reportedly visible from parts of Powai and surrounding residential areas.
Many residents tagged the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and the Mumbai Fire Brigade on social media, requesting immediate action to control the blaze. Some users claimed that despite tagging authorities and raising alarms online, there had been little response for nearly 48 hours.
The fire is said to be on the hill behind the Hiranandani area and near Supreme Business Park in Powai. Videos circulating online show flames moving through dry vegetation, suggesting the fire may have spread across a large section of the hill.
So far, authorities have not officially confirmed the exact cause of the blaze or whether firefighting operations have fully brought the fire under control. Residents continue to express concern as the hills are considered an ecologically sensitive zone close to residential neighbourhoods.
